I'll say I also liked Phantom Menace. And the first film (Episode 4) bored me enough that I've never watched any of the others. Go figure.

I liked Phantom Menace at the time, and I still think it's the best of the original trilogy, but I can see why a lot of people didn't enjoy it.

I agree about Bug's Life; I think it was more deserving of a sequel than Cars (and Incredibles), I still remember that teaser for it were they made it seem like Bug's Life 2 was being made, instead it was Car$$$. Pixar trolled us big time.

I remember that.

It's a shame I can ask anyone if they've seen Mulan 2 only to, in most cases, get a simple no, a lot of those people not even heard of it. I found it great, even in comparison to the original (I often found myself humming Lesson Number One whike mt sisters Like a Normal Girl (Or whatever it's called) throughout the film).
Pocahontas was good, too. Saw the sequel yesterday, shmeh. The original's songs, especially Colors of the Wind, seem really memorable to me. Not sure how big a fanbase it has, out of the people I've asked, it doesn't rank very highly.

One of the big reasons why Episode II is my least favorite SW Prequel, is the terrible pacing between the cliche love story, and a semi-decent fight/chase sequence with Jango Fett and Obi-Wan. Nothing interesting happens in Ep. II.

I remember one of the producers talking about after every final lightsaber duel from past Eps. they try to "1up themselves" with a better one.

So... how does Ep. II's final duel top Phantom Menace's in any way?

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is the best videogame threequel since Super Mario Bros. 3.
Yuji Naka Shared a Miiverse post I drew!
Games I'm hyped for: Batman Arkham Origins, New Super Luigi U (retail), Pac-Man ATGA (E3 will surely bring more.)

This. Phantom Menace had the better lightsaber battle (technically not "duels" since there's more than two combatants), and i preferred it, but when i saw Attack of the Clones in the theatre, people were literally cheering Yoda's epic monkey-fu.

Also, remember, Attack of the Clones had the massive Jedi battle in the Arena as well.

For the record, i also prefer Phantom Menace over Attack of the Clones, overall.

(I'm just replaying to you both)

The entire Yoda Dooku fight was over in less than 2 minutes. No memorable epic score, no final defeat. Remember how Episode I had 3 other battles going on simultaneously in addition to the duel?

I could understand if it was something like the Yoda vs Palpatine duel in Ep. III. THAT was a good Yoda duel.

@Nibelilt I read the books when i was younger and kind of enjoyed them, but still thought the movie was terrible. Also ending with an Owl City song is not a good idea.
@Austroid I actually love Dragonball: Evolution and Speed Racer as well. It's cool to see shows I loved growing up turned into movies.
And 2001: A Space Odyssey, I grew up watching 70's and 80's Sci-Fi, and I really love that movie. Not all 14 year old's only watch big budget movies. As for my friends though, they're the kind of people who hate the SNES and Sega Genesis because of 'inferior' graphics.

People hated that? I just thought no one saw it because of a few bad early reviews. I thought it was okay, but the second half made me a bit uneasy. I have a feeling they changed too much from the source material.

It really was awful. I had way too much talking for the world they created in the movie, and when they finally got to some action, it didn't last long enough to satisfy me. i was disappointed after seeing so much hype about it.

Pirates of the Caribbean 3. I mean granted, the problems of parts of it feeling a bit too pandering to fans of Jack Sparrow to ridiculous degrees or having too much things going on that could be their own movie are entirely true. But as a whole the movie's incredibly fun, and honestly far less of a rehash than the 2nd one. While I wish there was more of the 9 pirate leaders or the character deaths or the purgatory Jack ends up in, all of it is really entertaining. The humor's as good as the first movie and all the backstabbing and double crossing is done very well and it's a great conclusion to the series.

But the series didn't conclu-

I also liked Pirates of the Caribbean 3, Indiana Jones 4, and the Twilight movies even though I'm a man and have never read the book. I swear it so annyoning when people kept clapping in theater during the last movie, I'm trying to watch a movie and people just can't keep quiet, just shut up, we're in theater for Petes' sake.

John Carter was advertised in a way that made people expect a ton of action. The movie really had nothing else going for it. A terrible movie can at least redeem itself somewhat if the action scenes are decent. Take the latest Fast and Furious movie. I actually enjoyed it because the action sequences were ridiculously over the top and exciting. I haven't seen John Carter though so I can't judge it.

I love this movie! It got panned by the critics, but this was my favorite movie of that year. Saw it twice in the theatre, once by myself and the other time I dragged my wife to it. She hates Sly but she did enjoy the movie.

if you haven't seen the movie, how can you say it had nothing else going for it? it had a story.

what is happening more and more: a few people decided they don't like the idea of a movie, or the lead actor or whatever and they start trash talking it on the 'net before it is even released. it gains momentum and some good movies just don't have a chance.

they did a poor job with the release date of 'John Carter'. IMDB was spammed with those who merely dislike Taylor Kitsch (sp?).

but: even a lot of naysayers are now saying that it was a pretty good movie and worth a second look. unfortunately, that does nothing for the box office numbers.

Last Action Hero

A genius satirical movie with tons of tongue in cheek humour and self parody. A lot of people just don't understand this film..

I liked that one, too. It was a fun movie, the ending was a bit anti-climactic, though, but it seemed like a good enough send-off for the series (that said, I do hope it's a send-off for the series and it doesn't get dredged up when Stallone is too old to act...).
