Topic: Movies I Regret Watching

This. I love the James Bond series, but the second this one started I was like "What the crap?". I like the theme song though. "Another Way to Die".

Almost all of the "current" parody flicks like Scary Movie, Epic Movie, etc.
ALL the crappy teen screamers like: I Know What You Did Last Summer or whatever it's called.
ANY movie with a Wayan's brother in it.
ANY movie with the name "Tyler Perry" in the title.
Pirates 2. (Pirates 1 was SOOOOOO much better and spouse-friendly.)

Oh, quite a few, but one that comes to my mind is "Sin City." Every scene in that movie climaxed in torture, torture, torture, of all these "bad guy" archetypes that we're supposed to righteously hate so much (the religious hypocrite, the pedophile, the crooked cops, etc.). Self-indulgent, sick, and worst of all, a waste of talent that took my respect down a notch for the actors that went with it.

Cally, what exactly did you expect from a movie called 'Sin City'? That movie is a piece of art, a graphic novel brought to life. The only regret I have regarding that movie was that I watched it with someone who was as disgusted by it as you are, and couldn't see it for what it was. I suggest you avoid the sequel.

As for my recent movie regrets, nothing comes close to the romantic comedy that was Transformers, I hate every second of it. Be it the over complex robot design, the simplification of the plot, Shia LaBeouf being 'funny', Megan Fox being 'sexy', I hate it, and will never watch any of it's sequels, ever.

I have to agree with Cally regarding Sin City. His (?) comment isn't just a matter of being offended by violence, he's saying that it was simply a bad film, for it set up each violent scene in a cheap way with its audience, using a ridiculously simplistic version of morality. As far as I'm concerned, all that film did was to put together a worthless set of uninspired violent scenes and then slap a filter on it to make it seem "artistic." I don't find merit in any part of its production, not even the cinematography.

I loved sin city. For what it is its practically perfect. Of course not everyone will like what it is- a really violent comic book movie done in an overly dramatic style.

Probably not too many movies I actually regret watching though tons that are bad.
I kinda regret watching "pink flamingos" all the way through as it was quite bad and filled with very unpleasant images.
Entrails of a Virgin - was bad but not bad enough to be entertaining and actually felt kinda dirty after watching it
Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things - I'd like to think bob clark never made this. so bad and annoying

@longtimegamer yeah no one said had to be mainstream movies. A lot of mainstream movies I don't have enough feeling about to truly regret watching. though I would add...
The hours - terrible, boring, and really depressing.

I'm stunned by the people that didn't 'get' Sin city! WarioWoods, it slapped a filter on!? Have you even bothered to research or spend the time to flip throught the book? I'm guessing not which kills your arguement since it looks EXACTLY like the book...a book, I might add, which is critically acclaimed for its artwork. Also, the stilted acting, the lack of any real emotion for most of the characters, and the calm and cool with most of the charcters worked amazingly for the city they lived in but I guess those that didn't like it live in Happy Town 100% of the time.

Anyways, I always felt watching the LotR trilogy was a waste of my time but I couldn't figure out why I didn't like them like everyone else until Kevin Smith said it perfectly, "It's a moving about walking". It's so true...and my feelings were finally summed up by Elijiah Woods horrible acting...you shouldn't want to kick the main character into the volcano at the end of the film, I did. I couldn't stand his whining and groveling at the end of the film and that was something I never got from the books, I never felt like that.

Finally, the Matrix is just brutal. it's three films of the W. Bros saying, "Look what we can do!".

Transformers. GOD I HATED THAT MOVIE!
Sin city. I know is a violent comic book adaptation. That doesn't make it good. If it was faitfhful then the comic book is crap.
Superman Returns. after almost 20 years of failed projects they chose a very bland story. what a waste.
Star wars episode 1. I don't need to explain it, right?

Superbad....It was just another stupid "high school kids getting drunk and/or laid" movie. Also I hate Mclovin with the firely force of a million supernovas.

Seven: I HATE the ending of that movie. It has actually kept me awake at night. I've got a family of my own and that bit of horror definately hits close to home.)
The Mist: Again, it's the ending that does it for me. I haven't personally seen this one, but the ending guarantees that I will NEVER watch it.

Any movie with Rob Schneider in it.

@Magi: You just mentioned two of my favourite movie endings in The Mist and Seven. I like it when films shock, instead of wrapping things up nicely.

"Shocking" is fine...but making me never want to let my wife/kids out of my sight ever again is an entirely different matter.

I know what you mean Magi, but it's just a movie aint it. I find the news scarier

I'm not gonna disagree with you on your feelings, it's your opinion...but, gotta admit, I think that was the intention of the director so...dislike the ending, but it did what it was intended to do Not saying you have to like it, though. I get how it doesn't sit well with you...makes sense.

The "drama" where everything was inspired by racism. The movie that bewildered, embarrassed and disappointed everyone when it won the Best Picture oscar.
