@Jaz007
Thanks for making this thread. I was just about to tonight actually!
Good to see a thread like this!
I heard Gi Joe wasn't too good. Better than the original, but still not good.
Latest movie I saw in theaters was A Good Day to Die Hard
It was easily the worst of the series, but if your are looking for an action movie and I mean really full of action, then this is the movie for ya.
I'd give it 5/10
It was already a classic, but watching it in 3D is like watching it for the first time all over again, IMO.
3D on the 3DS is neat, but there's nothing as awe inspiring as seeing it in action on the big screen. Everything was just so much more immersive, from the T-Rex chase, to the helicopter flying in to the island, and even the myriad of rain.
I was skeptical at first, but the movie really lent itself well to the 3D treatment, and it was implemented extremely well.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Scary Movie 5 is arguably the worst movie of all time! Do not see it!!!
0.5/10
I actually thought it was okay. Not the best, but it was a step up from 3 and 4, which were both pretty bad. The first Scary Movie is great, and the second is pretty funny too. But aside from those 3, every single one of those parody movies is a massive pile of crap. Of course, even those 3 have a number of moments that aren't funny, or that go on way too long, but the jokes that hit really hit for me.
I'm excited for This is the End. It looks really funny, and I generally enjoy Seth Rogan and James Franco. Plus, Danny McBride is hilarious.
Aside from Scary Movie V, the most recent thing I watched in theaters was 21 and Over, I think, which was alright. It was just too much of the same college movies, though. Every joke that you'd think is in it, is in it. I also saw Mama when it came out, which was a decent haunted house movie, but the ghost looked rather silly up close (and the evil hair slithering across the ground was beyond stupid), and the last 10 minutes or so are terrible and not even remotely scary.
Some of my favourite movies are
The Avengers
Shaun of the Dead
Hot Fuzz
Cabin in the Woods
South Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut
Scott Pilgrim
The Matrix
Die Hard
Pineapple Express
Terminator 2
Tropic Thunder
A couple lesser known movies I'd STRONGLY recommend are:
Super
Take Shelter
Tucker and Dale VS Evil
The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.
Last movie I saw was the latest James Bond movie. Blah. I swear the best Bond is the one you grew up watching. I miss the fun these movies had like with Roger Moore and Sean Connery. Of course the worst were the uberserious Dalton pair.
Previous film I saw was Paranormal Activity 4. So not leaving a laptop camera on during the night. Not great although never saw 1 through 3.
I decided to read up on "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest", and it sounds like a really profound movie, in a way I'd probably enjoy. I should watch it sometime.
