@BlackFira: I agree with all that you said, and I too am wondering if this Webseries is going to be a prequel led up to a new MK movie. I have heard that they have been in development of another MK movie for years and since the latest game is a reboot on the series it would make sense if the next movie is a reboot as well.
@Waveboy&Link79: I remember being afraid of the MK movie after the disappointments Super Mario Bros and Street Fighter turned out to be, in fact it took my friends tricking me and taking me to a Drive in theater to see it lol. I am glad they did though. I remember grumbling at them about being kidnapped and being force to watch it when all of a sudden I heard that familiar MK theme song saw the fire across the screen forming the MK symbol something told me at that point that this time they were going to get a video game movie right.

@ WaveboyThe MK movie intro gave you chills too huh? I thought I was the only guy that giddy in the theater back then. Man was that ever awesome! Even seeing the trailer for the first time had me squealing with glee. The fight with Johnny cage and scorpion was wicked! Johnny even did a friendship after beating his . Ahh that takes me back. GET DOWN HERE! LOL.
The entire film had me giddy.lol The only real dissapointment had to of been the fight between Kano and Sonya....Sonya just seemed so ameture. Reptile was also a nice suprise, he gave Lui Kang quite the beating and he faught pretty dirty.Anyways, classic scene just for you.
And speaking of Mortal Kombat, I realllly need to get the new MK for the PS3.....It looks to be the best mortal kombat yet.IGN's '8.0' review still baffles me, that site has some ridiculous reviewers...
And haha, the 'GET DOWN HERE' was hilarious, don't remember hearing that one in MK1-2, i wonder who's brilliant idea that was.lol

@Waveboy: Personally I thought the Reptile Liu Kang fight was the best fight in the movie, For awhile there I thought Liu Kang was going to lose that fight lol. Speaking of fights did any of you guys get the chills when Liu Kang and Shang Tsung faced off and the MK theme started playing??
Oh and I think the GET DOWN HERE was just a play on the GET OVER HERE from the games when ever Scorpion snags you with his spear. And just a bit of trivia the GET OVER HERE from the games as well as the GET DOWN HERE was voiced by Ed Boon one of the creators. His name and the other creator John Tobias make up Noob Saibot names as well. (THere last names backwards if you couldnt tell)

@ WaveboyBest part of the movie! I still have the VHS tape somewhere. I even bought the MK Album with songs by the immortals. I used to crank it up on my stereo and pretend fight with my friends.

I traded my VHS copy in years ago but I have it on DVD both that one and Annihilation. I also had the music album as well but I had the cassette tape. I think I still have it in storage somewhere.

That final fight in Mortal Kombat was spectacular. It may not have been the best in the movie, but with that music blaring through... pure gold. Now I want to watch it again.

@Ravage: Yeah truthfully I think the best fight in the movie was Liu Kang and Reptile followed by Johnny Cage and Scorpion but the Shang Tsung Liu Kang fight was good mainly cause of the music. IMO that fight was too short it should have been longer.
Anyway for any that are interested the third episode of Mortal Kombat Legacy is now on You Tube. This weeks episode deals with Johnny Cage.

Oh yeah. I hadn't noticed it when I first saw the first Legacy video, but I showed it to my dad and he instantly recognized Sonya as Seven of Nine. I can't believe I missed that!

Never really watched any Star Trek, did you?

Ok that would explain it than lol. No I didnt. I watched some of the movies but never the actual TV series.

I checked out Episode 2 yesterday...And again, this sh*t is god awful....I'm having a hard time taking it seriously. But I am still interested in seeing Scorpion, Sub Zero, Reptile and the like....But this crap is guaranteed to have garbage fight scenes, as evident with Jax fighting Kano in episode 2.lol
This is what happens when you have a junky low budget and try to put a realstic 'Dark Knight/Batman Begins spin on the Mortal Kombat universe while completely zapping the magic and awesomeness that made MK so awesome in the first place. Not to mention the music completely blows in the web series as well.
Now lets compare.......Bridget WIlson's Sonya easily beats the crap out of Sonya in the Web Series, there's no contest. As for Kano.....There's no comparison. In the first live action MK it felt like the perfect match, the voice, his look, it was brilliant. In the Web series however....decent I guess, but I seriously miss the evil aussie accent. I need to watch Episode 3, apperantly it's about Johnny cage. yippie!

I know what you mean but in a strange sort of way its got me hooked. Maybe I am just waiting to see how bad it can really get.
I dont know about Bridgette Wilson's Sonya it was ok but I think she made her too much of a b*tch. Her personality just wasnt what I imagined Sonya. I did like Kano though in fact alot of people did. Did you know that after the first MK movie they really developed Kano,s character in the next games? Originally they had him as an American but after the first MK movie they redid his background and said he was from Australia. I thought that was way cool. I dont know about you guys but I was ticked when they killed Kano.

I was ticked that Kano went down like a total chump. Bridget Wilson's Sonya couldn't fight to save her life. It was painful watching her hop around with her ammeture wobbly fighting stance and fighting like some white belt karate kid student.lolAnd the fight hardly lasted long at all, it was such a giant let down.
In the 2nd film, the newer Sonya could actually fight....But i just didn't like the actress that played her, hell the entire movie was unbearable to watch. The actor that played Lui Kang was too damn good for that piece of crap film.

Well it was nice to see that for Mortal Kombat Legacy they went with a more accurate Baraka than the re-imaged one with dreadlocks. Kinda nice to see him do his impalement fatality too. . Kitana and Mileena werent too bad either.
37. Posted: Sat 7th May 2011 14:01 BST
@Tasuki, agreed regarding Baraka. Although it wasn't as good as it could of been, it's still miles better than the floppy K-mart halloween masked Baraka in MK Anihilation, and Dreadlocks Baraka from the earlier ReBirth trailer.
But you know, this entire thing feels like it's turning into MK Anihilation and that's clearly not a good thing.....Well, based on the latest crap fest that was the Kitani & Mileena episode. Right off the bat, we get flash animation which screams 'super low budget limatations' lol And they royally screwed up Shau Kaun...I mean that was it...Really!? WTF. lol
At least the jonny cage episode was decent, it was probably the best so far. But that rap song during the intro was painful

@Waveboy: Agree so far I liked the Johnny Cage episode the best and I am curious to see how they do Scorpion and Sub Zero since those two were my favorite.
Personally I like the look of this Shoa Khan better than the one in MKA and for me anyway I always pictured Shao Khan as more human in nature almost like a warlord not like some super natural demon thing like they showed at the end of the first Mortal Kombat movie.
And yes the animation bugged me too I was like wtf either make this anime style or live action but not both.
