Just got home from his new film Capatilism: A Love Story and was very impressed again by his showing exaclty what the main stream media doesn't show on tv. I absolutely love how he takes the middle ground Democrat and Republicans and finally gives them a voice in the movie and the major issues we have seen in the last couple of years. It was a very touching and inspiring movie and really makes you want to stand up as a individual and rights and issues when we need to as people. Very Inspiring..... Loved it.

Michael Moore has just gotten kinda annoying. I like bowling for columbine despite questionable tactics and though I agreed with a lot of Fahrenheit his tactics started to wear on me. It seems since bowling he's mostly pointed out the obvious.

Also, I've heard he doesn't say anything bad about obama in this which is kinda BS as he's supposed to be against corruption and bad choices no matter the party or politics. He seems to just be one of those people that people claim to be revolutionary (during bush days) but are just for mainstream left politics ie democrats.

@jbrodack..... You should really see the film. You will be very impressed with him. He isn't out to praise Obama or just hate on Bush like all the media, he gets down to the nitty gritty with all the Corporte Corruption with the banks and actually exposes a LOT of things that you haven't heard anywhere else. Capatilism has become about greed and power and its obvious and he shows the people who are Really being affected by it and also has Awesome footage of Deomocrats and Republicans alike speaking out about how the bills being forced through without debate and the back door deals that are going on (even into Obamas term) with Pelosi, Reed, Dodd, etc. This aint no Obama praising film. He does have some high praises toward Obama to the end of the film but I agree with his points. Obama IS doing some very good things but some are not as great, nobody can be perfect.

I really like both Micheal Moore's films and books.Yes they provide a biased view, but at least it's a different bias to most of the rest of the junk we get fed everyday.I really enjoyed Stupid White Men,Dude Where's My Country and Bowling for Columbine.Really well made peices of journalism IMO and expose what some most of Americas politicians are really like.I wish he would make a film in Britain although our politicians are being exposed everyday at the moment anyway :D ,not that anythings gonna be done about it.
A recent example of the idiots that run my once great country from yesterdays news. The goverments own appointed Head of Scientific research on drugs announced that Alcohol and ciggarettes are far worse for society and the individual than cannabis. He had the backing of every major scientist in Europe on this.He also said how our then home seceratry Jacqui Smith had ignored scientific advice when she made Cannabis a Class B drug (it was Class C).Yeterday said scientist was sacked for 'not agreeing with the governments stance on drugs'. Now why the **** would you employ an independent scientist and then ignore him. It's a complete joke IMO.After all the other scandles lately (expenses etc etc...) I now have no faith at all in the people that run my country.
I think we need more people like Michael Moore in Journalism.Fortunatley here in the UK we do have quite a balanced media policy. (I mean the leader of the BNP was on Question Time ffs) but at least we still have the right to free speech... just.
Anyway sorry for the rant ,I dunno I just had to get that of my chest and this thread seemed the right place somehow :D. As you were...

I have a great deal of respect for Michael Moore's conviction, even if I don't always respect his methods. He's a gifted film-maker and has been extraordinarily successful at engendering debate, which is a good thing, as all of his major topics so far have definitely deserved to be debated

Also, the artist in me owes him a debt of gratitude, as he single-handedly redeemed the phrase "profitable documentary" from being an oxymoron. For that alone, both sides of political spectrum owe him a handshake at least.

@Luigi78.....actually I found you so called rant very interesting. I know very little of the politics of Europe and Michael Moore actually had some good things to say of them in the movie. No system will ever be perfect..... I think that is a impossibility. Here things have become so far streched from eachother you have one media that is so far left its dang near communism and then another that is so far right it ridicilous. I know the right side of the spectrum says the Mr. Moore is a horrible propagand Liberal that his movies are full of lies and they aren't. His movie is about Democracy and how it has helped Europe and Japan, Germany so much but yet US has strayed so far away from it, even when we helped with the restructure of said Countries. Not very biased in my opinion. I think some should just sit down and watch his films and then take an opinion.
You spoke of Jacqui Smith.... is this the same lady that has recently stepped down because of putting Michael Steinener (Savage) on the terrorist list and banned him from Britain. I know he has really fought hard to get his name removed, all he is a 60 yrs old Talk Radio Host.... granted his background consist of 2 Master Degrees in Science and has 20+ Bestselling Books. Our media has barely even spoke of the situation here, have they there?

I completely agree with Luigi78, and am surprised Vendetta consigned Mr Moore to the fail thread.

We need more men like Moore, ones who stand and up say "oi, that's not right!", instead of looking at the floor and pretending they didn't see anything. As Chicken said, his methods may not be the best, but at least he prompts discussion, amongst an increasingly apathetic public.

@Luigi78: I was extremely annoyed to hear of the sacking of Prof Nutt (yup, that's his name), I sat and watched Jacqui Smith completely tear the man apart on Question Time this week for not following the company line. This is the minister who bent the rules for expenses and claimed over £100,000 illegally. She even claimed for pornographic movies her husband watched while she was away. She felt she was being treated unjustly when asked to apologize to The House, which she did, reluctantly, and it was completely insincere. I too have lost all faith in anything the Government do, and find it upsetting, that as individuals, we are so powerless to actually do anything of influence.

That's why Moore has my respect, for making us question those in power, and embarrassing them where ever possible. I would love to see him turn his efforts toward British politics, he'd have a bloody field day.

Least surprising reply ever!! :D
Honestly, for the most part Michael Moore is a litmus test for determining a person's political leanings (which is why V-Mans reply wasn't a surprise). Conservatives usually like him the way liberals like Rush Limbaugh.

Myself, I enjoy his films and they do an address important issues that others don't. Sure, he needs a fact checker at times and he goes a little over the top, but I still enjoy his movies. I have to say that no matter your politics I think his most recent one is well worth a look.

I'm a Michael Moore fan! He represents my home state of Michigan too!!

The conservatives are just jeaslous of Obama.

The Bush years for were a time when logic and science weren't in vogue. Absolutely despicable times, but that's what happens when you run the country for Enron and Cheney's oil company, but not for the people.

on topic I find Michael Moore's approach is funny at times and he sure does seem to enjoy causing a little controversy. I have nothing against the guy on a personal level but I think he just likes attention at times also.

@The Fox.... how exaclty do you mean it as a litmus test to prove how much someone is educated in politics? His latest is the most unbiased of them all and Is the most informative, emotional of the lot. You can tell that it all has really hit home with him..... literally.

@Turbo Genesis...... word of advice my friend. All the Bush is this and that and Conseratives are this and that..... well be careful throwing that around a lot because it the goto for everyone nowadays and most of them have no idea anything behind the satements. Most conseratives are in no way jealous of Obama in any way. That is far left propaganda just like Obama being a communist is far right propaganda . Intentional Misinformation given from larger than life people John Stewart, Larry King, Glen Beck, Rush Limbagh, etc can sway millions of people into believing things that are stretch into bigger issues than they really are. Moore in his new film will show a LOT of people thing they may have not know that were in the Clinton, Bush and yes even now Obamas offices. Obama is doing a LOT of great things but there are things that haven't changed a bit now from Bushs control now that Obama is in office. Moore really threw all the bias out the door with this film.
