Hey guys, So I was recently browsing my app store when I came across the full version of Mega Man 2 for $.99. I've always wanted to take a crack at the Mega Man series, and I heard Mega Man 2 was the best. However, I was planning on buying the game for the VC, and I have MORE than enough points to do that! So, does anyone know which one I should purchase, the iPod version or the VC version? I'm kinda leaning towards VC...

@irken: Yeah, I figured. I played the lite version on the iPod, and I didn't have too many problems with the controls. ...But the demo only let me play Wood Man's level (which I heard is the easiest). I'm under the assumption that it gets much harder than that, so precise controls would be necessary... Thanks!

Its pretty easy on easy mode, except its helpful to know the final bosses weakness. Once you have metal blade it is laughable [the game] I didnt think it was very hard, but you can always replay it on difficult, if you think all the levels are way to easy.
I actually thought Wood Man's level was one of the harder ones... But yeah get the VC version since u can quick save the game if you get tired and you can use ACTUAL BUTTONS!
I read on an IGN review of the iPod version, they said the level lay-outs were different, and Mega Man himself floated heaps higher and it was incredibly awkward in comparison.
I'd go VC myself, but some may prefer the iPod version for whatever reason
I had difficulties playing on iPhone. Stick to the VC version, if you can.

The iPhone version is cheaper, but I guess from IGN's problems that maybe you should use the VC version (especially for the quicksave feature).
I'm pretty okay.

Thanks guys. I just kinda figured if I bought it for iPod, I could buy Mega Man 3 for VC (I kinda want both)...But I was hesitant, because I've heard bad things about virtual d-pads on iPods...And if the iPod port is in any way different from the original, then it's a major turn off for me...I think I'll stick with the VC...Thanks!

Mega Man 2 on the iPod is an absolute abomnination. The controls are broken to the core, and I swear they f***ed up the level design as well. I highly suggest people stay away from it. Even with its low price point, it's not worth it.>=(
I found that I was able to get much father on iPod without any weapons than VC. It seems that people who have played it on iPod are calling bad controls, but I thought they were good. I just want to know if you have all been playing it sideways or not. Cause sideways is much easier.

Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
On the IPod it is easier to screw up because of the controls and also because you don't want to start over again if you make to the final boss and have to do it all again just because your IPod lost all of it's battery power so VC is better.

You can turn on classic mode for regular jumping... the iPod version was originally released with a slower and higher jumping mechanism to compensate for the horrible controls. Yeah just go with the VC version. I'm surprised you didn't mind the controls on the iPod, I thought they were pretty rubbish.
VC version. Sure, the iphone version is cheaper and more convenient, but I bet the touch screen would be very awkward, and awkward controls in a Mega Man game would be a big no-no.
