Topic: Mature titles and their hold on you(or lack thereof)

I don't really go in for Western AAA murder sims, but I certainly won't avoid a game because of a mature rating (consider, for example, that almost all of the SMT games I play are M-rated, and the Zero Escape games have some VERY mature content in them). I've found the NA rating system is kind of broken in some cases. For instance, I refuse to let my nephew play a T-rated game like Uncharted where you run through the entire game mowing people down, but I have no problem with him playing something like Persona 4, even though it's M-rated. Older children are prepared to play a game where some white sociopath murders everyone in a ten mile radius, but a game about teenagers finding their place in the world and growing comfortable in their own skins is suitable only for adults, evidently.

Currently Playing: Advance Wars 1 + 2: Re- Boot Camp (NS)

Is anyone saying they don't care what they play? Most replies have been about Age Ratings not mattering to people.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Just because I don't care about age ratings doesn't mean I don't care what I play. There are more important things than the content itself. I enjoyed Bayonetta for largely the same reasons I enjoyed Wind Waker. In the same way that I enjoyed some parts of Ori and the Blind Forest because it played like Super Meat Boy. Or how I like Need for Speed and GTA for similar reasons.

Most the M-rated games I've seen out there are gore-fests with curse words in every sentence. Only reason I played and enjoyed the Bayonetta games is because it reminds me of Okami somewhat. Also noticed some of them focused on realism or whatever...if I'm gonna play an M-rated game it's gonna be sci-fi or fantasy or something.

I've looked back, reflected and yes, I agree with you. I'm tired of Gore-fests and the realism doesn't mean awesome gameplay half the time to me. Bayonetta felt a little like Devil May Cry but swapped with an ever-so fabulous female lead.
