Topic: Mario or Zelda?

Which series gets you more excited? I've always been a fan of Mario, and SMW is one of my favorite games of all time, but I'm not going to jump for joy when a new Mario game comes out. I'll buy it, and love it, but the only reason I own so much stuff with Mario's face on it is because he is the face of Nintendo.
When it comes to Zelda, I'm excited for any small announcement or cameo I hear about. Zelda is the only series of games I will buy on launch day, and what began my Nintendo fanboyism in middle school. Though I wouldn't consider myself a Nintendo fanboy anymore, I'm still a Zelda fanboy at heart.

Honestly about equal between the two, with a slight edge to Zelda.

I was going to say Zelda but after looking around and seeing that over half my Wii/VC games have something to do with Mario I guess I have to go with him.

Well, Mario has pretty much been in 4 games to every 1 Zelda game.

Despite the assumption that Mario is "less hardcore" by many people (not so much on this website), I have to easily go with Mario. Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Super Mario World are easily my favorite games ever, with many more Mario games not far behind. I just find Mario games incredibly fun to play. Maybe it's just more my genre of choice. Regardless, Mario is the easy pick for me here.

Don't get me wrong, though, Zelda's great too.

Mario ain't no slouch though. Super Mario World is a genuine masterpiece.

Mario but Zelda has had some excellent moments. Either way its pretty cool after 20 + years the popularity of these series are still going strong.

Neither. I used to be a huge Zelda fan, but now I've played the series so much that I just can't get excited about it anymore. Plus, Metroid Prime has shown me ways a game world can be explored that Zelda could never do. I can't go back after that.

I never get excited over Mario game announcements, though. Never have, never will. Unless they announce some sort of Super Mario Sunshine sequel, anyways. Or a Yoshi's Island sequel that doesn't suck.

Zelda!

I really like Mario because its a game anyone can play. But I have to say Zelda because the games are epic and considered masterpieces.

Mario. I could go on for hours explaining why I love the guy but I don't want to bore you.

But Zelda isn't bad by any means. Actually I depend on Zelda for more quality than Mario believe it or not. I mean come on have you played Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, or Twilight Princess? Masterpieces at the least.

Mario. They're always coming out with new things to make the series more awesome. Zelda is the same everytime, but in a good way.

Ask me when Skyward Sword comes out.

Mario Just because I didn't have Zelda games when I was a kid. I have never beaten a Zelda game. T_T
