Legendary pro wrestling manager Captain Lou Albano died at age 76 this morning. According to the Miami Herald, his family says that he was at home under hospice care before his death.

Wrestler's Rescue is taking up donations to help Cpt. Lou's family pay for medical expenses related to an illness that led to his death. Read more.

Captain Lou recently released his autobiography with a foreword by Cyndi Lauper, who used Cpt. Lou in her popular "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" music video that helped bring publicity to pro wrestling during the Rock 'n Wrestling era of the early 1980s as Vince McMahon took WWE national.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

That's quite sad actually, I loved that show as a lad. Everybody, do the Mario.

Captain Lou will be missed. I was actually at a WWE legends autograph signing about a year ago and Captain Lou was there. I'm glad I was able to meet him. He was native to Delaware too. He did a great job as an actor and voice talent for Mario IMO. Not to forget he was one of the all time great tag team managers and the only man who could keep the Wild Samoans under control.

Just a difference in what people like really.
Originally and a long long time ago it was real wrestling and as the years went on it culminated into choreographed entertainment that we know today.
Its like that with everything though different things appeal to different people. My sister in law hates video games and she will not speak to me because she thinks the fact I play video games makes me someone thats afraid to grow up and give up there childhood.

Uh, that's a really bizarre reason not to speak to an in-law whatsoever... Are you sure there aren't other forces at work here?

Come on, friends,

i'm with Adam... that sounds like a convenient excuse IMO. what'd you do to her, lol? or has she just never liked you?

Also, @Swerd_Murd: think of wrestling as a testosterone-filled soap-opera. everyone who watches it knows it's fake as hell, but it's still fun to just go along with the stories (sometimes) and watch some good matches, however scripted the outcome. Those men bust their butts (sometimes literally) to entertain their fans; gotta give 'em mad props for that.

He's doin' the Mario with God now.

When I read the article I thought "oh, how sad", and then I go down a couple posts and see that and break out in laughter...good one Chicken Brutus. I'm still not sure why "the mario" never caught on.

No other forces literally. She is pretty much psycho. She is an extremely obsessive and compulsive person (control freak). Me and my brother were supposed to go fishing one day and when she found out she threatened to divorce him if he went fishing with me. My step niece her real father got her a DS for christmas in 2007. When my niece got home her mother took a hammer to it and screamed at her that she was not going to let her daughter become a worthless P>O>S like her uncle (me).

@WaLuigi: i meant it sounded like a convenient excuse for her, not for you, dude, because it sounded so ludicrous. I realize you've already explained her psycho craziness to Adam, so I get it now that she's just plain nuts (seriously, who takes a hammer to a brand new DS instead of trying to sell it or return it to the store and getting something else instead?), but I wasn't trying to imply that you were lying or anything. o_O
