Every time time I come back to playing Smash Bros., I forget just how fun it is. But then after a bit my skills just plateau and I wanna throw the game into the closet cuz I suck at it. This cycle repeats every few months. I'm curious if other people have games they rage over but then come crawling back to?
Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is one of those strange cases where I adore roughly 95% of what it does, but the 5% of the game I don't enjoy bugs me a disproportionate amount. In Ni no Kuni's case, that 5% is the party AI, which just kept driving me crazy the last time I played the game.
Hmmm, I don't think I've ever really had an experience like that with a game. I'm not the type of person to find a game frustrating or to get frustrated over a game.
Fighting games in general unless it's Tekken. I love them but honestly I am not good at them especially Street Fighter. I think part of the reason is I just don't have the time to sink into a fighting game like others do.

Crash Bandicoot. It's a wonderfully made platformer, but I can never seem to beat this one level due to it's archaic save system (you only get the chance to save every other level, and that's only if you manage to both access & complete the bonus stage in that level). I try going back to the game every once in awhile, but just can't get past this one level.
I also concur with the user who said SNK fighters. I have Samurai Showdown II on Wii VC, and I love the game/premise, but haven't been able to beat the 4th/5th opponent with anyone. Also shortly had The King of Fighters XIII for a bit (before my dog ruined it), which I loved, but could never beat the boss character.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Spelunky, Terraria, Splatoon, and a couple others. I love them so much though I can only play them for a couple minutes without getting bored, which makes me not want to play them.
I used to get frustrated every time I loose on Mario Kart for some random reason. Now I learned to control that feeling and I always have a blast with it
Just about every game I've played. Yet to find that perfect blend of challenge without frustration. GTA4 is a good example - some great aspects but having to redo the driving every time you fail a mission gets old pdq.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
Recently, Its Kid Icarus Uprising. I kept wanting to try to get used to the scheme but I just simply can't and I give up. But the quality of the game simply made me want to try it again and again. Finally, I've decided to screw it because even with customized controls, the game wants you to use the default in the first place.
Megaman X6, a controversial game that a ton of people dislike and I really enjoy...yet I can see why some people dislike. The story(especially with the translation) is terrible, rescuing reploids can be a pain sometimes, the Nightmare system is abysmal in execution, and has some levels some truly bad level design that often makes the game hard for the wrong reasons. Still there are plenty of things it did that make it a great game(and improvements that make it better than X5 imo), it had some of the best armors in the series, ones that actually felt like they had a purpose, OST is one of the best in the series(imo, second best just behind the original X), still controls good as usual, a much better ranking system compared to X5, the reploid rescuing system is still better than X5/X7 , you can actually get everything with both characters, no awful English VA like X4 and X7, and there are some levels that are pretty fun to go through.
I still don't get how people seriously think it's worse than X7, the game with terrible controls(which is a big no-no for a game like Megaman) and riddled with bugs and glitches
