Apps do not games make and although this appears to be off topic, as I understand it, Steve Jobs doesn't believe in gaming's potential, so where does that leave the future of Apple gaming? Looking at the Mac, there are what, maybe a few Blizzard titles that get support from Blizzard and... Oregon Trail, Number/Word Munchers from back in the day?
What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.
Someone punch Steve Jobs. Seriously, just punch him and shut his mouth up.
Hey Steve, your still getting owned by MS. News Flash, your products also suck for gaming.
You sure have a habit of slowly derailing threads, because Steve Jobs is barely mentioned in the article...
Yes because no-one ever mentioned that Apple is trying to compete with Nintendo or Sony in the hand-held department. Nope,no one ever said it. I mean that really explains why apple mentioned that they have more games than Nintendo and Sony.
Fact is my friend,he is the CEO and he is the moron behind this whole "Hey we're apple,we are gonna beat out Nintendo and Sony. We are the best, not them" nonsense.
You don't have to read the article,we are talking about Apple. A company that thinks the Iphone is good for gaming when clearly it is not.
And again,I'll admit I did not read the article but I am sick and tired of hearing about how Apple rules the hand-held industry when clearly, the DS and PSP are more better for gaming.

I don't know where you heard that. I always thought the platform was 98% gutter trash, 1% overhyped games and 1% fair-to-good games.
Besides, if we want to crunch numbers: a million $1 iPhone games sold earn a million dollars, while a DS game sold for $30 earns a million after selling only 33,333 copies. Many sell far more than that.
@sykotek Erm, you should read Sean's sentence with the commas in place. He was referring to Swiket as "my friend" and "he is the CEO" refers to Steve Jobs. Who happen to be two different people. (I hope!)
Trash talk? In OUR games industry?! But seriously...
DEAR APPLE:
That is all.
Apple just got owned. Apple doesn't even approve games before launch people can just post whatever on the app store.
I agree that steve jobs needs a slap to the back of his big head. At first he has low standerds and then he's trying to take on nintendo? good luck beating a company bigger than yours with more of a fan base, oh wait, that's already MICROSOFT and Apple's still not winning the computer market!
And apple is talking about they're "oh-so-affordable gaming" when they're new iPod Touch XL (otherwise known as the iPad) costs $500 or MORE and apps are up to 5X the cost! Don't even get me started on they're laptops and desktops are more than twice as much as what you could customize a PC for the exact same features. Enough is said.

wow.... that is just retarded. of course the iphone has more "games". considering half of them are random bullshit and NOT games, a third of the rest just suck ass, and 1/7 th of the remainder are entertaining for only ten minutes (that leaves roughly 1/42 if i did my math right). not to mention any infant child and his rattle can make a legit iphone app. only actual producers can make games for nintendo ds and psp. plus those games are a lot better in general. holy crap, did i just stand up for the psp? dayum......btw, that leaves about 1200 legitimate and good games. sorry if this is a double post, just dont see my comment there.

Nope, the seal of quality means nothing to quality nowadays. How many crap games are released on Nintendo systems? More than there are released on others that's for sure.
How can developers make money in that massive pile of crap? I see it as prohibitive. If you can waste 99 cents for an app that says "SHUT UP!", there's definitely something wrong (Note: I DID NOT buy that app; Apple products are too expensive and useless to me.).
I have nothing against App-le, but if they can 'kill' Nintendo in the portable game market, I will be very much surprised, alway amusing to see all of the smart phones gamers who brag up libraries of NES/SNES ROMs!
Of course, on a digital level, Apple will dominate Nintendo, but that in itself is good news for those few of us who appreciate a physical product, and will not tolerate a license agreement. Look you, at the world of gaming, see you, the fifedoms of the big corporations, and the licensing they collect! For digital games!
