frame rate drops and severe glitches are not ok or excusable variables. we are talking about ea but we could easily be talking about ubisoft wii u ports. these are mutimillion dollar companys. it is inexcusable. the point you are missing is the severity of the glitches we are joking about.
That's a good point...though I'm mostly concerned about not having lots of stupid interruptions when all I want to do is play a game. Patches + OS updates + dead batteries = why I never play my Wii U.
Yeah, it always kills the mood when you want to play a quick session of "that game you haven't played in a while" only to be left waiting with a combo of console updates and multiple game updates....
The main thing is that I want all my PC games in one collection: Steam.
And yes, I hate it because it's related to EA. I guess it's not Origin itself that is bad, but rather all the software on it. SimCity didn't work for what, weeks? Battlefield 4 is still bugged? And it's all related to EA.
Why would I want to support the company who bought PopCap AND RUINED MY BELOVED PvZ
Don't get me wrong I hate EA as much as the next dood, and I'll give them plenty of flak where it's deserved, but I just don't see the Origin hate.
When I tried it it had some type of background thing like a virus scan that ran even when the program was closer screwing up a Steam game I was playing at the time.
EA puts the GOTY equivalents on Steam anyway eventually. (And I am not that bothered). Life is easier with no 3rd party DRM.
Ubisoft are utter scumbags they deliberately gimp ports (See Watchdogs which people have managed to get to be more like what they promised).
I would rather have no DRM at all but at least Steam once it is closed that is it. If they want any of my money they need no 3rd party DRM.

Ubisoft are horrible. When I bought my GTX 760 I got Assassins Creed 4 Blag Flag and Splinter Cell: Blacklist for free, though I had to use Uplay to play them. When I tried to play Blag Flag multiplayer the first day it worked and it was hella fun, but then the following days after, it NEVER worked and I couldn't join any server, and it said I had some red NAT bullcrap and whatever.
Then I tried Blacklist OH AND GUESS WHAT. It was bugged. The HUD was out of place, and the whole screen in general was sort of... minimized so there were black bars on the right and bottom side...

Indeed, I would actually prefer not to have any client or DRM at all. GOG FTW.
