AWESOME, you referenced LOTR; Your cool factor went up +100 in my book. You gotta remember, though, that Elrond was Halfelven - a human/elf hybrid. But the other elves were human sized, so yeah, I think it's safe to say that Link is an elf.
@pix: WoW elves certainly are. Like i said, depends on what version of elf-lore we're following as to how big an elf is 'supposed' to be. :3

It was a Legend of Zelda cartoon from when I was a kid. LOL I used to get in trouble at school for saying Well excuse me Princess to my teachers as a small kid.
Gonna unleash my inner geek here: (and going slightly of topic) You are correct that the clones worked for the republic and the head of the republic is(was) Chancellor palpatine. But the chancellor was in reality the Emperor, and therefore the clones do work for the Emperor, even when they were known as clones and the republic existed.

And many of my companions in the battlefield were created after Order 66, so they never worked for him at all.

Link's a Hylian according to Ocarina of Time. A Hylian is basically an elf of the Zelda universe. It differs per game though, as it appears the cartoony one in Wind Waker is not a Hylian.
