I though I was opinionated and stubborn, but Mr Elf, you take that biscuit. Why continue to knock a series of books that a lot of people really enjoyed?

Me, my brother, friends of mine, are all big fans of fantasy writing and think this is some of the finest there is. Personally I can't wait for the fifth book, and I'm sorry you didn't have the patience or capacity to make it to the third.

Wow, Machu, there are lots of reasons someone cannot enjoy a book you don't enjoy. It does not mean he doesn't have the patience or capacity -- saying that is kind of stubborn and opinionated in itself, not to mention more than a little insulting, especially considering I just quit it at a bit less than 50 pages in, haha.

Every chapter so far has been like starting a new novel, with almost no connection to the previous, and that to me isn't good writing. Taken on their own, each chapter was unnecessarily confusing with a billion new proper nouns, none of which are explained. I am patient, but a book should not be a test of patience.

Even if you have to wait to understand some things, there should be something to grab a hold of from the beginning, but this book just leaves you floating. I'm interested enough that I want to see the TV series when it starts, but not enough to sludge through this.

Yeah I was a bit harsh, and pretty hypocritical too. He pushed the button though, it wasn't my fault.

Ah, the button, I hadn't noticed. I, too, have been victim of the button many a time before. I used to believe that Orlick had stolen the button and kept it in his evil lair (where he forces his captives to play Wii Sports Resort cycling while listening to old hip hop albums) to push all day, but I think my button's been deactivated.
