I'm sure everyone has those games they just hate. Just list them here, thus putting all of your hate into one collective basket. And who knows, maybe you'll find that others share your hatred for those games, and it will make our relationship stronger by allign us against a common enemy. Or if anything else, you'll just vent. What ev'.

WARNING: Some people here might list your favorite game as their least favorite. If you are offended by people having an opinion that differs from your own, get over it, or get out.

Here's my particular hates:

  • Final Fantasy 6 - I was very disappointed with the story, characters and general style and pacing of the game. I know there's a good game underneath it all, but getting to it is like swimming through a pool full of tacks.
  • Goldeneye 007 - This game taught me exactly what a shooter should be: a mindless killathon where every aspect of the game is geared towards killing tons and tons of dudes, and doesn't impose any side elements that involve things other that shooting. In other words: everything this game wasn't.
  • one of the X-Men games for the Sega Genesis - if you've kept up with AVGN, you know what I'm talking about. I remember back in the day I couldn't believe they could screw up a game this badly. And it's not even the worst of them apparently.
  • Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - This game should be everything I'd want out of a shooter and more, but it wasn't. Every match was just annoyance after constant annoyance, and the only thing keeping me going was the unlock system, which just became a bucket of emply promises. I kept thinking that with this next gun or this next perk, the game would get better. It never did.
  • Star Ocean: Till the End of Time - You see that subtitle? Yeah, it lived up to it. The story took so long to get anywhere that you thought the world would end before you finished the game. Seriously, I have never played a game with worse pacing in my life. I played over 40 hours, and most of it was spent on one planet. The story never really went anywhere, the characters were annoying and unlikeable, most of the gameplay remained largely unchanged, and what little they did add just made the game worse. This is easily the most disappointing game I've ever bought. It held such promise, but never delivered. It's thanks to this that I almost got turned off of RPGs again.
  • Super Mario 64 DS - Remember growing up with Super Mario 64? I know I do. I remember how fun it was running around Mushroom Kingdom, turning with such tight precision, messing around with the seamless camera that was easily the best I'd seen on the N64. Well, none of that is in Super Mario 64 DS. And it sucked. Hard. If I didn't love Super Mario 64 so much, I wouldn't have beaten it, and even then I was cussing the whole damn way. I've never had a game raise my blood pressure the way this one did. If I hadn't sold my N64 cart, I would've just quit and gone back to the good ol' days...
  • Star Ocean - Geez, and I thought Till the End of Time was bad. The battle system is the second most boring I've ever seen - just select an enemy, then sit back and watch. Sure, that works in AD&D style game where character development is a factor, but such a thing doesn't exist in this game. You're just going from one boring battle to another to continue the lame story (though I'll admit it has a better story that Till the End of Time did). I got bored of it real quick.
  • Blast Corps - This was one of the games that plagued my childhood. No matter what, I could never figure out what I was supposed to do. In fact, to this day I still can't figure out what I'm supposed to do, except now I don't even care.
  • The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass - You'd think after Windwaker Nintendo would've learned that stealth elements don't belong in a Zelda game. They didn't. Not only that, but they threw in unkillable enemies, a time limit, crappier sailing (I even liked the sailing in Windwaker), and the shortest, most boring dungeons I've ever seen in a Zelda game. This is easily the worst Zelda game I've ever played, and that includes Zelda clones.
  • Valkyrie Profile - To be fair, this was one of those games I should never have played in the first place. I knew that going in, yet I played it anyways. And it was horrible. In fact, it was G-d awful. Remember when I said Star Ocean: TtEoT had the worst pacing ever? Well, I take it back: No game deserves that title more than this one. Every time you go to recruit a new member to your party, you have to sit through their entire life story, all of which are boring and poorly written. The combat is the worst I've ever seen: You just mash buttons. You don't move or select commands or anything, you just mash the freakin' buttons until either you win, or you lose. It's boring as hell. The platforming stages are just a pain in the neck, and the controls feel really weird. Oh yeah, and the whole game is on a time limit. That was a fun surprise. Yeah, they kinda forget to mention that. Seriously, I think this is the worst game I've ever played, and so long as G-d permits, I'll never have to play it again.
  • Final Fantasy: Anniversary Edition - So, they took one of my favorite games and dumb it down to the point where it's just generic and pointless. Good going Square-Enix! /sarcasm
  • Golden Sun - Now I don't actually hate this game. I just like to hold it up as a perfect example of what I don't like in JRPGs. I DON'T like stupidly easy, style-over-sustance gameplay; I DON'T like generic stories with horrible pacing and generic, unlikeable characters; I DON'T like wandering around aimlessly looking for my next objective; and I DON'T like...whatever the graphical style was. I don't know what to call it, but it was terrible, and it annoyed me the entire game.
  • Kingdom Hearts II - Okay, take everything I just said about Golden Sun, and apply it to this. Then add me ranting about how they ruined everytghing that was good about the first Kingdom Hearts, and you have my reasons for hating this game.
  • Dragon Warrior - Grind, buy new equipment, go to next town, grind, buy new equipment, go to next town, grind, buy new equipment, go to next town, grind, buy new equipment, go to next town, grind...It never stops! Throw in all the other annoyances, such as having to do a 3-step process to open a freakin' chest, having to select a command to climb stairs, and having som box thing dop down every time you pause for the slightest instant, thus making you pause when you try to start moving again, and you have THE most unnecessarily annoying game ever made! Seriously, they new better back then. They didn't have to make it this annoying, but they did. And it sucked.
  • Team Fortress 2 - By all accounts, I should've enjoyed this game, but I didn't. I couldn't extract even the slightest bit of enjoyment from it. I assumed I would enjoy it - it looked fun, it sounded fun, but it wasn't. It was just boring. Yuck.
  • Kirby 64
  • Rugrats The Movie (GBC)
  • Mario Kart Wii

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare? You and me have something in comme-

Did you just say Team Fortress 2?

wont be on here anymore

Nintendork

Jeez, you started off with a bang there, Mickeymac.

Anyways...........

Super Mario RPG: Bland, boring, and when it's rarely not boring, frustrating. I'm shocked that so many people like this.

Kirby 64: The power combination system is nice, but everything else somehow became worse in some way, making it inferior to it's predecessors.

Blastworks: Now, I LOVE Blastworks level editor, but that doesn't really matter when the core gameplay is so broken (IMO, the gimmick of attaching ship parts to yours causes more frustration than fun). I don't know, probably just not for me.

Littlebigplanet: Same as Blastworks

I'll update if I come up with more.

Sonic Heroes, Banjo-Kazooie, Line Rider 2(DS), Nintendogs(I see no reason for the 40/40 famitsu score), Breath of Fire II, Most WiiWare games I got at the time when WiiWare was a new thing, and Let's Tap, to name a few.

Rugrats The Movie for the Game Boy Color. The controls and structure are bad. In each stage, you're to collect a certain amount of items to progress to the next stage. However, get hit by a certain enemy, no matter how many items you acquired, and you lose all of them at once, which means you have to recuperate the items where you originally found them. Unfortunately, it happens a lot.

Also, I respect peoples' opinions.

Oh G-d, I had that game when I was a kid.>_< I seriously couldn't stand it. No matter what I did, I couldn't make any progress, it was so bad.

I'm surprised I actually managed to get up to the third stage, which by the time you get there, the game becomes impossible. It's got a password system, but I'm not sure randomly choosing numbers and/or letters until you get the right password would help.

To each their own

With the exclusion of the Metroid Prime games, every single FPS I have ever played. Every time one looks promising, I get all optimistic, and the terrible gameplay never fails to let me down.

It's hard to say. There are a lot of games that I just don't get into, but if I'm not interested then I don't play them enough to figure out which is my least favorite. The worst game I've ever played is Superman 64, no doubt.

A lot. To name a few, Halo, Call of Duty, The Conduit, etc.

Chrono_Cross

Gears of War I want to play a shooter where i shoot people, not where the only kills i can get are either from a friggen' grenade or chainsawing. I hate it. Also the storyline sucks and every time I've been online there's immature kids/teens yelling into the headset which offsets my concentration thus me getting chainsawed by a noob... which also I am.

Halo

Fallout 3 It's boring. The storyline is sad as how boring it is, the whole post nuclear warhead apocalypse theme is very dull after about 30 minutes, the guns are meh, the beginning can throw any off, and there's not really anything fun to it and the expansions all suck.

Skate It's Skateboarding. Who does that anymore and still has pride? Plus Tony Hawk already ruined that part of the "sports genre" if that's what you would call skateboarding.

NiGHTS Worst buy I've ever done on Wii. Bad graphics, annoying voice acting, horrendous controls, and if you died you had to do the whole level over? How are you supposed to learn yet remember the boss's moves/weapons when you have to remember the damn level over? Confusing, time wasting, and poor programming.

Kingdom Hearts

Super Mario Sunshine The further I get into it the further I realize something. sure it's a great game and one of the best on GCN but the camera angles and horrendous difficulty makes this a put off. Also collecting blue coins is not fun at any means. More poor programming.

Dude, even I hate most of those games. You gotta get your hands on Doom, Quake, Bio Shock, Serious Sam. The classics, man, the classics! Of course, you could just hate FPSes all together, but you won't know until you experience them at their very purest!

Don't worry, he dislikes everything.

Edit: Well, not everything. But still.

Dude, no one outside of vc-forums even gets that. Shut up.

Bioshock...classic...? I think Half Life needs to go in there instead. Not that Bioshock isn't a very good game.

Can't people say why they hate some of the games they have listed.

I'm tempted to throw a PS3 at some people.

Actually, NiGHTS is on Saturn. Journey of Dreams is on Wii, which is inferior in many ways.
