Koopalings are fine...since they're new to the series (but, gawd, Nintendo, enough with them in the NSMB games, lol), but the babies, Nintendo is kinda overdoing it. They should have just left it at Mario, Luigi, and Peach (since she's from Partners in Time, lol).

The Koopalings aren't new to the franchise, they were introduced back in SMB3.

I've always thought of the Koopalings as gimmicks. They are just colorful looking characters that spruced up really good Mario Games, they didn't really have some special personality or anything. That's part of why I really like Bowser Jr. he actually has a personality and a story behind him.
