Does anyone know a website I can go to get rid of the koobface virus for good. Norton says it gets rid of it, but I do a scan 30 minutes later and it's back. Some kind of back up file it puts in your computer or something.
I don't want this to turn into an IE vs FireFox or Mac vs PC discussion, just looking for a little help, its driving me crazy.
I have never heard of it personally, but you should be able to get support from Norton and ask about it. It might be a separate download. Out of curiosity, is this virus something that only Windows can get and IE can let in? I want to make sure that I won't be getting it.

I think the first tool in everyone's anti-virus/spamware arsenal should be Hijack This! It's an awesome program but not for the beginner. Usually, on any AV forums, the first thing people will do is request a log from Hijack This.
Sounds like malware and phishing more than anything, look for "Spybot: Search & Destroy" and "HijackThis!"
Myspace has a new anti-phishing program running, I had my account hacked and then they locked it.

Sorry about taking so long for a response. I tried a few of the suggestions and none of them helped, but a coworker suggested Malwarebytes and i gotta say that is one fine product. It got rid of the problem in no time not to mention others that norton was missing for God knows how long.
@5: I plan to do that in the future. The ladies will just have to e-mail or call me from now on
@Josh: Sorry for not actually helping in my comment, I must've dropped the Malwarebytes link in six other related threads and had got tired of being ignored. I should have realised you might actually listen. Glad you solved the problem.
One thing I don't understand is why some people are miserable enough to make people's lives much more inconvenient. You don't know these people. Why do you create a virus just to mess with computers? What do you get out of it beside people wanting to rip your head off? My theory is that (virus) hackers have failed in life, so they now must try and make other people be as miserable as possible. That felt good.
