[16:43] James: I should learn these site rules more clearly
[16:44] LztheBlehBird: James doesn't know the rules? For shame!!!
@Andy: V is Viewtiful Joe. also, i'm with Dragoon. you're never too old for something you enjoy. don't turn something down that you htink would be fun just because it's "kiddy" or "grown people aren't supposed to enjoy that." also, it's not just some simple game. it's one of the most expansive, deep and strategic RPGs available on the market right now.
Looking forward to The Conduit 2 and CoD: Black Ops for DS For really cool avatars for a forum, go here! http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Callsigns/Emblems
So I got all of them, except for C... But I must say, I can't believe I haven't seen C before. Whatever it is is dashingly handsome.
I see what you did there.

A bit Nintendo-heavy for a gaming alphabet, methinks.
The bad choices IMO, none of these are iconic enough: Donkey Kong - The fact that the barrel requires the letter D on it kind of ruins the idea. (Same with the Mario & Luigi hats, but not as much.) Falcon - I had to figure this one out. Why not Fox? Ice Climbers - In that form they are only recognisable from SSB. Jill - Not a hugely recognisable character, particularly since that image is from her sprite in MvC2. Oddworld - I thought it was Abe at first and that's, well, A. Also the series is not so well-known these days. Umbreon - The first-generation Pokemon are the most iconic in general. Too bad P for Pikachu was taken by Pac-man.
That's just IMO, of course.
Also it's surprising how many game characters have names that start with C. Cloud, C.A.T.S., Charizard, Cortana, Curly Brace...
@HolyMack: shoulda been Fox over Falco, yeah, but maybe the choice was because most people mistakenly refer to him as "StarFox" instead of "Fox" as is proper? I agree with Oddworld, Umbreon and Jill, though i liked DK and Ice Climbers (especially since that is their most recognizable form... much more so than putting their 8-bit sprites in only one color...
and yeah, there's a lot of Nintendo... but Nintendo is still the biggest/most important/most recognizable figure in gaming. take Nintendo out of the equation, and (as well all have heard many times) gaming may not exist, especially not in the form it's in today.

Nintendo is practically the only gaming industry you can quote a bunch of characters from. Gimme one prominent mascot from Sony. Or Microsoft.
But I wasn't just talking about Sony or Microsoft. This isn't a "game console developers' alphabet". Quake and Oddworld are PC games. Ryu and Viewtiful Joe are from Capcom. Sonic and Tails are from Sega. Earthworm Jim is from Shiny. Pac-man is from Namco. See my point?
Now, as for iconic game characters. MS and Sony rely more on third-party titles than Nintendo, but they have a couple:
Microsoft: Master Chief, Cortana, Banjo-Kazooie. Sony: Crash Bandicoot, Kratos. Capcom: Megaman, Chun Li, Zangief, Dante, Morrigan, Chris Redfield, Phoenix Wright... Square-Enix: Moogle, White Mage, Black Mage, Bahamut, Cecil, Terra, Crono, Cloud, Squall, Zidane, Tidus, Sora, Lara Croft...
And there are many other big names with important characters like Namco, EA, Activision, Ubisoft, BioWare, Rockstar, Blizzard and Valve. Of course I know there are only 26 entries in an alphabetical list. All I was saying was that a lot of them were from Nintendo. There could be changes like Kirby being replaced by Kratos and the list would have been much more balanced. The creator must be a fan of Nintendo.
