So I have a pretty bad fear of heights, everyone thinks it's called vertigo, but that is just a specific dizzyness you can get, what I have is Acrophobia. An irational fear of heights.

So even if I know I am safe, on say... A ROLLERCOASTER, I still wouldn't actually go on one that goes up high in a bajillion years, and for a wizsquillion pounds (1.7 wizsquillion dollars).

So I was just wondering what the highestestest 'coaster in the world is, and it turns out it's Kingda Ka, at Six Flags in New Jersey. Anyone been on this evil monster?

What do you think of Rollercoasters in general, scary or exciting? Best one you've been on?

It's a Rollercoaster topic started by an Acrophobic who can't really go on them!

And btw - no, I have never been on a plane, and probably never will.

Yep, I've been on it. It's disgustingly fast. Disgustingly.

And it feels like you're on a different ride when you sit in the very front seats versus any of the rearward seats. Two reasons, 1.) because you're taking the wind right in your face rather than having it dispersed by those on front of you, and 2.) the view when you're hanging over the disgustingly high (disgustingly) precipice is completely unobstructed. With your aversion to heights, you'd probably vomit uncontrollably, or, preferably, die quickly before the inconvenience of having your own vomit splashed all over your face as you punch through it on the way down.

Good ride though!

I would never go on a ride like that, and I only like some rollercoasters.

Just let it happen.

If I found myself on this thing, I'd be happy it was coming out of my mouth, to be honest... rather than my... well, let's leave that right there.

EDIT - Sorry about the re-post pets thread matey, didn't realised there was one already going.

Well, that's what happens if you sit in the back seats.

The post of the day has now been quoted...by me! Therefore, I now have the quote of the day.

Q: How many physicists does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Two, one to hold the light bulb, the other to rotate the universe.

i LOVE a good rollercoaster. and yes, briunj, Superman is great, but it's not worth the wait most of the time. everyone should do it once, but after that... 1hour wait for a 7 second ride just doesn't work for me. X2, however... good gracious, i'll wait a monh for that. where is this "Kingda Ka?"

I've been on it! I live in Stafford Springs, CT and my family goes to Six Flags New Jersey every summer. It's one of my favorite coasters and I just love hearing that countdown until your suddenly launched at more than 100 mph straight up that tower. You can get a quick view of the whole park at the top, and then it's a long drop down. You do a little spiral on the way down. Then after that it's one last hill and that's the ride. It's over before you know it, but it's wicked fun! There are two other coaster that I know of that are like Kingda Ka. There's Stealth which is at Thrope Park in Chertsey, Surrey, United Kingdom. Also, there's Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. Top Thrill Dragster is known as the world's second tallest and fastest roller coaster. If you do go on any of these rides, DO NOT RIDE WITH YOUR EYES CLOSED!!!

I don't like rollercoasters really. It isn't the height I'm afraid of its the motion that gets me all sick. I don't mean pukey sick, just it messes with me. All the bends and turns and going upside down makes me feel like im going to pass out.

THERE... ARE... 4 LIGHTS!

Wow, Viper, then I've been on the top two tallest/fastest coasters in the world. Go me.

I took a trip to Cedar Point a couple (wow, FIVE now?) years back with some friends. If you like roller coasters, then that's the place you want to go. I'm not a coaster enthusiast, obviously - having not known these coasters' stats - but I wasn't about to turn down a 3-day roadtrip weekend to an amusement park. Who could?

I have that same irrational fear of heights. I had a panic attack having to climb up to the top of the place I managed (it's one story, so maybe 12 feet to the surface) and I swear I didn't stop shaking until 3-4 hrs. after I came down from it. I've been on 1 rollercoaster in my life and it was just because the girl I liked wanted me to. It wasn't that it was very high, but it was olod and made of wood...the fact that you could see it sway didn't help either lol.

I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.

Most unsafe Coaster ever?

I'm there, dude!
