Imagine-Nation was on today!

Main Theme: this week they talked about the manga, Innocent. It takes place in 18th century France, and intertwines real world history with fictional intrigue. It follows the true story of the son of the royal executioner for King Louis XVI, as he struggles with his destiny as the next executioner. After his father has a stroke, he must take over the family business, and while he does accept his fate, he vows to create a world without capital punishment. The author fills in a lot of the historical blanks with all sorts of intrigue, as his family gets involved in a scandal with the royal family while the French Revolution builds. The author is known for his highly detailed art style (especially the hair), now even more detailed due to the digital animation tools his team uses (that lets them zoom in to certain areas to draw an intricate level of detail). It was released in France this past March, with plans to release in other parts of Europe not too far off.

Side Theme: They talked about 2.5 Dimensional Theatre, which recreates the story of popular manga on stage (they featured clips from their Yowamushi Pedal & Sailor Moon perfofmances, while mentioning that they're currently doing Naruto). Even if you can't understand Japanese, you can get a special pair of glasses at the event that overlay subtitles over your vision, which are controlled by an operator so they line up with the performance at all times (they only showed English, but I assume it can be translated into other languages as well?). While they are currently only performing in Japan, there are plans to start up shows in other parts of Asia soon.

P.S. - Last week's episode was a repeat (the Rodea the Sky Soldier episode).

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

Without comic books, animations, and video-games. The only thing left would be it's host clubs, call girls, and vague culture. The culture ( small things we ignore, like take Maple syrup vs Bean paste ) for example including high-arts ( fine-arts ) would practically be extinct without them.

In places like Korea, parts of China, and others in the far east, they have resorted to all kinds of tatics to get money from other people.

Even the JAV ( Japanese Automobiles and Vehicles ) would suffer greatly without comics.

Their is nothing great about Japan at all in that aspect alone. It has been in ruins since the post WWII, and thank gosh people their get to live in their imaginations from time to time and make art that is appreciated.

What else is their? I mean looooook...the Salary man who pumps out math and history at his job..Look at the strong man go...the salary man who in his culture could mingle with other women depending on his marriage ( they have marriages like that ).

Without comics, Japan is just another China. That is how I feel 100% about Japan. Do the math and history of Japan and you will understand.

Just came back from traveling in Japan. It was an amazing experience. The food was great, the people were nice, and the mountains were an incredible site to see. Definitely would go back again.
