Wow this one is off the rails, and I'd also argue that FDR was a borderline wannabe dictator in how he ran that office and ran over the American people too. His start to things were grounded with good intentions as usual, but it turned into something far more sinister if you look into that. I'm pretty sure Iwata and him have little in common and hopefully that includes dying in office as he needs to go even quicker.

This topic was not intended to have anything to do with FDR. I've learned a great lesson in forum posting. Thank you all.
This thread has been a real eye opener in terms of which forum members here have atrocious reading comprehension. Don't sweat it, it's been an entertaining read!
I was thinking you'd equate Iwata to Roosevelt as a "benevolent dictator" kind of thing. FDR was indeed a dictator in practice, but instead of using his power and influence to oppress and conquer, he played a vital role in protecting the free world and taking the United States straight from its weakest point to being the most dominant country on the planet.
... I'm not sure how much of that translates to what Iwata's doing. He's definitely created and fostered some of the greatest and most memorable video games of all time. Though recently, he's been forcing Mario games into playing so safely that they're just plain mediocre and forgettable. A lot of people are wondering if his time is up.
He was literally just pointing out that Iwata seemed off in the latest direct (being behind a podium instead of being in full view as always), and thought maybe he's sick and they tried to hide it.
And used mister old US president as a comparison point. Because apparently a similar scenario happened to him.

Haha, I love all my Nintendolifers for all the fun they bring! "We have nothing to fear but fear itself....and Amiibos/Smash failing to deliver WiiU sales."
I means his employment to die, not literally. Don't read too much into that being a defensive Nintendo fan on a Nintendo fan site forum. I just think he's a crap leader and a great game maker. We need more Kirby out of him, less mismanagement right along with Reggie.
