Topic: Iwata = FDR?

Did anyone else notice the odd white podium Iwata was behind in the Japanese new 3DS reveal Nintendo Direct? I'm wondering if he's wheelchair bound or can't stand or something. Maybe still recovering from his recent medical treatment. It intrigued me...that's all.

I know that but it reminds me of how they covered up Frankln D. Roosevelt's disability during public appearances. I just wondered if anyone else noticed or thought about it.

FDR's disability was was downplayed, and efforts were taken to avoid making him look "weak" (especially once we entered WWII), but it was never "covered up".

I apologize for any historical inaccuracies. I consider downplaying and covering up to be one in the same. The dude wore iron braces and swivelled his hips to create the illusion he could walk with a cane. So no one noticed Iwata I guess.

Is Iwata one of the most important historical figures we have? No.

But does he help a gaming historical figure Shigeru Miyamoto many times? Yes. He's not as important as Miyamoto, but pretty important.

But are they anywhere near FDR important? No.

I will henceforth never refer to an American president on this site (unless that Madmen Football comes out for WiiU and is awesome). I had intended the conversation to go more towards Iwata's mystery podium and less toward Franklin. Iwata + Podium + Not standing = My FDR comparison.
