Ya, well the overwhelming majority (over 70%) of casual gamers are female, so tomato/tomahhhto.

I'm glad you said it, not I

Nanaki is right, us forumcrabs probably represent 10/20% of the daily visits? At a guesstimate.

And stop making me laugh CB.

Relax, Orlick.

By beating this drum as hard as you are, even in general defiance of the opinions of the ladies on this board, you are making everyone uncomfortable, not just women as you assert already are.

I don't see too many sexist angles to this site, but honestly, I'm not looking at it through that filter. Can you point out a few specifics - aside from the "sexiest characters" thread - so that our leadership here has something to reference aside from your rant? That would be some constructive criticism.

He does have a point though, about NLife coverage. Perhaps less Kotaku-sourced/System Wars type stories, shorter reviews or video format, more coverage of casual games, and a way of labeling games that instantly visualises their content/difficulty level etc. with some icons or something.

No, on second thought just leave them - they prove my point. Talking like a pirate.....photoshopping head crabs on avatars...

= Funniest thing I have read all day, Orlick you would do well to read and take note of your signature or maybe a new Dickens pseudonym may be the answer to your problems.

@Machu - Loving the new avatar, infact I am slightly jealous.

Hiya Clix. I'm not saying he doesn't have a point, and in fact I like reading a lot, most, some of Eugene/McCrawber/Orlick/[INSERT NEXT DICKENS NAME HERE]'s posts because even if they're a bit out there, they're usually well presented. In this case, and again, admittedly, I'm not looking at this site from a sexist angle, I don't see a major issue, certainly not one that requires an overhaul. So I figured if he pointed out a few of the more egregious violations that would require such, I could see them with fresh eyes and perhaps agree.

I'll refrain from suggesting what imagery could be used for the icons you suggest. <braces for a slap>

Enjoy the day.

I don't think he was thinking of sexism either, V, and I don't think he mentioned it. Just usability. I think it was Machu, Stuffgamer, and I who were the only ones talking about it, and I was talking about it in the context of other sites.

<checks thread title...> **Whew!** Ok, I am still in the right thread. Thought I was losing it there.

You're trying to attract the ladies with those lips? It looks like a sign for a strip joint.

Good work Machu, why not call it the N-Files in the hope that we can attract a few of the lady X-file fans??

And leave a trail of Mulder crumbs from there to here, I like it. Now come on guys, serious topic here let's stop derailing it.

I have just seen a statistic on Statswhatyoumakeofit.com that says 42.673% of Wii users believe in the existence of giant killer head crabs, glad to see NL is trying to cater for that audience.

Its like 'tom-boy' gaming.

so i have to be a tom-boy to enjoy playing video games? or are you trying to say i haven't yet devoted enough time to playing my Wii? plz to advise, because i'm not sure which way to be offended by this.

The issue is not that she is a women that approves of frat-fart game culture, the issue is she is on the INSIDE and this study COPNFIRMS that most people who look for opinions on games are on the OUTSIDE and do not WANT to look IN! (Becuase of the marginal, self defeating stereyotype confirming nature of game sites, including NL - to a point) Read this topic man - everyone is right its ladies nite and where are the ladies - in VERY short supply. Where are the mothers, looking for advice?

if the 'mothers looking for advice' are serious about it, they can learn what they need to know from reviews all over the internet, as well as places like Amazon and stuff that offer a way to leave reviews on products bought by consumers. they can also ask the people selling them the game if they go to a specialty store like GameStop for it. the 'mothers looking for advice' have enough to do with caring for their families, maybe working outside the home too, making time for hobbies and/or exercise, and so much other stuff that I'm not surprised in the least that we don't get many here. I wonder how many people here are actually fathers, too. I know there are plenty of gamer men and women with children out there, but i'm sure they pick and choose which forums they post on, because there's just not enough hours in the day.

also, have you ever considered the idea of lurkers? i've checked other websites for reviews and information, but that doesn't mean I also have usernames there and I also post there too. you don't know that those 44% don't actually check and read up on games here there or anywhere else because there's nothing for guests to the website to check to confirm that they are male or female. if other females prefer to lurk or to just check the reviews or main site without making usernames and posting, and they don't want to get involved in what usually adds up to (on most gaming websites, anyway) people wrangling endlessly over which game was better, that's their business, isn't it? they've got better things to do with their time than get involved here, too, and that's okay. whatever works for them. NL puts out the info, and the people who want to partake of it do so. it doesn't seem like they have any problem with people not visiting, so until there is a problem, why fix what isn't broken?

Where is the diversity of opinion and thought? Where is the maturity? Where are the mainstream gamers???

This is the same stuff you've been parroting for months now -- boo hoo, people are having fun the way they want to have fun, making (sometimes) obscure gaming jokes, messing around, and arguing (politely?) over things with one another in a group discussion-type setting, and you don't like it. More confirmation that you're doing this for yourself, Eugene. Congratulations on finally coming up with a way to phrase it all, though, that doesn't make you sound like a complete jerk (at first).

Black Dragon, please do not talk about the love Chicken and I share like you understand it. It is difficult making an inter-species relationship work as well as ours has. We are going to win that contest with or without your support!
