1. - Never played Pokemon - not a single game.

2. Pretty much hate the RPG genre especially Final Fantasy (to sissy) - Liked Chrono Triiger, Chrono Cross, Paper Mario GC, Quest 64 (very random!), Sentinel Worlds Future Magic (very old skool!) and - that might be it. Liked the battle system in the DS MarioRPG's but the blah platforming, horendous charachters (suitcase guy), and moronic story killed those game to me...

3. Cannot stand licensed sports games, especially John Madden.

4. Hate the rythym genere, you name it never spent a cent on plastic guitar games, laugh at the price of beatles rockband in ANY form, hated Elite Beat Agents and will never even try Rythym Heaven - Rythym HELL to me!

5. Think the SNES was Nintendos weakest system.....

6.Think the Dreamcast is most over rated system of all time...

Can always add more later but spill your guts now!

IGN: The holiday Wii lineup looks thin for the hardcore crowd. We see this. Gamers see this. What, if anything, is Nintendo planning to address it?

Oh good, I am neither a gamer or hardcore. Saves me from having to be IGNorant.

when i play fire emblem, i often form my meticulously selected and positioned group into specific formations and will move the whole group up one space at a time if i have to, just to keep them in an orderly formation, so as to add to the suspense and drama. my brother runs through the thing as fast as he can. he makes fun of me constantly. oh well. he lost a fourth of his characters by then end, so we all know who the better armchair general is... right?

-I can be a real demon when playing Star Parodier on Easy Mode, Normal Mode, 2 Minute Stage and 5 Minute Stage. You'll barely find me holding still in the game, though I barely lose any lives (well, except during the final boss in Normal Mode). I'm that careful.
-In Chrono Trigger, I never once got a Game Over from Lavos' second form.
-The Ice Forest is the perfect place to level up your characters, weapons, and Mana spirits on Secret of Mana.
-I'm the only one gamer I'm aware of who owns Mickey Mouse: Magic Wands for the Game Boy Pocket, and beat the game.
-Breath of Fire 2: I would've enjoyed it a lot more than the original, had it not been so tedious. It's not a bad game by any means, just a bad sequel.

Holy Moly.......That's EXACTLY what I do when I play Fire Emblem!!!!!!!!!! It takes me FOREVER to finish a level.

So here are my "quirks":
1. I hate any and every video game made after a movie except Finding Nemo and Speed Racer.
2. In Professor Layton, after solving a puzzle when Luke or Layton say something like "Layton's apprentice strikes again!"
I usually respond in some sort of fashion.
3. I have to have a cup of water nearby.
4. My DSi or Wii remotes MUST be charged fully before I play.
5. In Professor Layton I click in every single spot looking for hint coins before I move to a new area
And too many more to list....

First of all mrmicawber, I've been wanting to ask you for the longest time, but is your username from "David Copperfield"?

Also, how old are you? I'm just asking because a lot of people view the SNES as the Golden age of video games.

Also you say that Final Fantasy is too sissy, which would be correct about every FF since the 8th. Which makes me assume you're young.

Somebody set up us the bomb.

1. I am 22 and still love Pokemon to the point that I sometimes get obsessed over stats, EVs etc and have three PC boxes dedicated to trying to breed the best Pokemans possible
2. I think the PC is better than the 360/PS3 for games but despite this I have only ever brought 2 PC games and currently run Linux on my main computer
3. I have an un-natural obsession with Mario Kart and in particular Super Mario Kart for its bright primary colours
4. I think things like bump mapping and bloom are overused and overrated
5. I think that the SNES controller was the pinnacle of 2D gaming control and that the Wii Remote + Nunchuck + Motion Plus are close to the pinnacle for 3D gaming control

I legitimately enjoy video games as a recreational activity and do not give a crap about the console war and all the series feuding.
When playing online, Upon losing I am grateful for a good match and I usually am up for a rematch. Same for when I win.
I use the Camera function on my DSi more than I play games.
I believe approximately 95% of people under 17 should NOT be allowed video games or access to the internet.
I also believe 80% of mature people would agree with me.

this except for when the opponent is being a dickhead, infinite item cheats and such in Mario Kart for instance. I think most people play games online with good sportsmanship and the people who don't generally ruin the experience for everyone else.

oh and I entirely disagree with your "nobody under 17 should be playing games or be on the internet" thing. I was on dialup when I was 17 so I can't talk much about the internet part but I really disagree with disallowing under 17s games. I'd personally ban TV first...... and then maybe create a separate internet for the squealers so I can enjoy it in peace.

I said 95%.There are a number of people under 17 who don't act like....well....what I could say is not appropriate for this environment.

I don't like turn-based RPG's, at all. Which of course means i really don't understand Final Fantasy's immense success.
I'm really bad at scrolling shmup's. I haven't the patience.
I have struggled to enjoy 2D platformers since Mario64.
I can't just sit down and play a game, everything has to be 'right'. This sometimes causes me to take half an hour to decide what to play, only to discover, I didn't want to play anything.
I completely ignore the line-up of games on non-Nintendo consoles. I can't justify spending more time playing games than I already do.
I would rather lose a race in Mario Kart, than resort to a bike.
I NEVER rush a game, and spend more time than I should walking around enjoying graphical details and soaking up the atmos'.
In 50% of the games I play, I get close to the end then stop and get distracted by something else. Six months later I'll start the game from scratch and this time, complete it.
I like to wear Nintendo t-shirts and the occasional Nintendo sweatband whilst playing multi-player games, for good luck.
I don't like playing games in the day, love playing them in the dark.

There's more, but I'm bored now.

Rawr!

I never gave first person shooters a chance when I was little. But I'll make sure to make up for it.

Well I hate to say how old (I am not young!) I am cause no one will believe it or make an issue out of it - yes I make up for it bt being very immature also - lol. Never liked the old chool FF, now they are metrossexual? Is that how you say? Uhgh - I am a REAL man!

I like the NES 100x better than the SNES - not to get into this drug out, but just baout every franchise on SNES came from the NES and is not as good as the NES game and is easier with 'better' graphics. I say the SNES is the #1 nostalgia Nintendo system - ppl talk about how it is the last Ninty system with 'great' 3rd party support - but precious few of those games (as with all generations) hold up and are continously fun over time - there is more but - end sermon.

I ALWAYS take my user names form Charles Dickens or classic literature, even though ppl on this board tell me how antique trash Dickens is (I mean, come on!) and a chicken pecked out my first two accounts here for no good reason.

(Fun fact - if you have access to chickens take a marker and draw a large * (astericks) on the floor and put the chickens head over it and make him look at it and he will not move and be hypnotised....) Maybe that has message board applications - who knows?

Noire

1. When given the chance, I'll go for the female characters every time.
2. If I know the BGM, I'll hum along with it while playing.
3. I'm not a fun guy to play competative multiplayer with if I start to lose. I'm cool when I win, but when I lose, I tend to start insulting anything that comes to mind: the game, the controls, your mother, you name it.
4. When my characters start to take a beating, I try to encourage them on, even though I'm controlling them and they can't hear me.
5. In Fire Emblem, whenever a battle starts, I give both characters a silly little dialogue that I voice myself.
6. I tend to run through the story mode as quickly in possible in most games I play, then after watching the credits I go exploring and do sidequests.

I may add more if I think of any. And I did.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

SMEXIZELDAMAN

1. in fire emblem i pretend like some peple have relationships so they always stick to gether and if one dies i make the other commit suicide.
2.in zelda games i always name my character Meisbob, ismebob or bobisme
3.when my people die or nearly die i yell at them and refuse to help them because they are "stupid" for doing what they did even though i made them do it.

MetalMario

1. In Fire Emblem, I immediately restart whenever anyone dies or I can't get a character anymore.
2. Despite being a huge RPG fan, I don't like Final Fantasy.
3. I tend to make movements similar to what the characters are doing when I play.
4. In Swordplay in Wii Sports Resort, I always try to finish off my opponent by "spin attacking."
5. To any song I know, I'll hum along to it while playing, which is alot, if you've ever seen my YouTube channel.

Nintendork
  • Despite Golden Sun and the Pokemon games being some of my favorite games of all time, I completely despise the RPG genre as a whole.
  • I think the Crash Bandicoot games are as good or better than most Mario games.
  • For whatever reason, I tend to have a completely different opinion on most critically acclaimed games.
  • I really enjoy fooling around instead of completing a level in most games

That's why you're still a kid.
