Haven't lived at home in roughly a decade, so I don't know exactly how much of this kind of thing she watches, but I have heard my Mom and Grandmother discussing Idol contestants during holiday visits, particularly during the epic Clay vs. Reuben thing several years ago.
I do know that she watches QVC / Home Shopping all the time.
