Topic: Is Panasonic interested in Nintendo?

I would imagine that Panasonic and Nintendo have an infrequent working relationship (See the Panasonic Q Gamecube). I wouldn't be surprised if Panasonic had also contributed to some of the internal components of Nintendo's hardware in the past.

No-one is going to acquire Nintendo.

Move along now, nothing to see here.

Remember this?

Panasonic collaborated with Nintendo to produce this limited run of Gamecubes with DVD support.

I could live with Panasonic and Nintendo joining together.

@WhiteSpyderZero Oh, you Ninja! (beating me to the point by two hours as well...)

Panasonic has worked with Nintendo many a times. But I don't see the need for a merge. It would have happened by now.

I do recall getting my Wii Remotes and one time, a set of Panasonic batteries were in them. Not to mention, Nintendo tend to use their televisions for displaying their games. Not sure they do it "now", but it's something I do remember seeing and standing out for some reason. And them terribad Zelda CD-i games (Mario too). Maybe that's why they were discouraged from really getting into the gaming biz.

Sony supplied sound chips for SNES systems and had one of their own games on it. Sharp provides the screens for Nintendo's handhelds.

I don't think having a space in a building means they would or should merge. If it happens, I hope we don't start getting terrible Fire Emblem and Kid Icarus games that follow them CDi games... but man, you just can't hate them lol

If I'm not mistaken...Panasonic didn't make the CD-i

So what about Panasonic makes you think Panasonic can't manage a gaming business unit, run by an acquired Nintendo?

No, you're right. Panasonic was involved in the 3DO, not the CD-i

well, maybe they are involved with the wii U as previously stated. with the controllers screen perhaps? seems logical, unless there is already another company doing that. but it would be awesome if they merged, both companies would grow stronger and such. i think it would be cool, but highly unlikely imo.

Can you please turn that into a multiple guess question?

There's only one answer, though: Nothing.

Unrelated, but I wonder who is supplying the touch screen for the Wii U's controller. I don't think it's Panasonic - they don't have much by way of touch screen technology. I has assumed Sharp - since they supply the other Nintendo handheld screens?

Panasonic wasn't the only one involved with the 3DO. Goldstar and Sanyo had their own models too.

As for the topic, I can't see Nintendo doing this.

I don't buy Panasonic products, so I hope that doesn't happen.

Why ? They have made the best TV's for ages (At least before they stopped doing Plasma).

And they actually would make sensible choices (Like an optical out on the Wii U. So 1080p over component with proper sound would work.)

The Panasonic Gamecube had an optical out.
