Topic: Is Nintendo too 'late' to be like the rest of the video game companies?

Nintendo recently started to make copyrighted games and some mature-oriented games.

Examples:
At a recent E3 2009 DSiWare video showcase, Nintendo would publish the Domo games onto DSiware games, and currently, Nintendo teams up with Team Ninja to create an edgy and action oriented game.

I believe it's never too late for Nintendo to join in!

What about you?

When I first read the subject line, I thought Eugene Wrayburn was back from the dead.

I'm not sure I follow what the question is. You just gave two examples of what Nintendo is currently doing; then you said it's never too late for Nintendo to join in. How can Nintendo join itself? Could you explain what it is you're asking a little more thoroughly?

Does Nintendo want to be like other videogame companies?? No (thank god)

SonicMaster

was eugene wrayburn really that bad? I didn't have an account or do forums back then, so I wouldn't know. I only cared about reviews and news.

No one said anything bad about him, guys, at least not in this thread. Chicken and I just thought this thread title sounded like something he'd post. That isn't inherently bad, though if you automatically assume so, perhaps you mentally associate his name with drama.

Well considering Nintendo is the largest and basically the FIrst major company to stick around with more systems and games available than any other company. SOOOO how the hell are they trying to be like anyone else.

Nintendo's pretty much always done their own thing; I think they'll continue to do so.

Their own thing earns them the spot of number one in sales but number three in respect from the gaming community as a whole.

The only reason why they are number one in sales is because they are mainly catering to the non-gaming masses. Not casual gamers (because all three consoles cater to them in their own ways). Non-gamers. The type of people who fall for Nintendo's advertising but won't be buying many games. The ones who naively believe that a big name movie licensed game is going to be as good as the movie.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

I don't see how publishing the Domo games have anything to do with what "the rest of the video game companies" are doing. Also, this definitely isn't the first time Nintendo's developed an action title, nor is it the first time they teamed up with another developer, so I don't know what you're trying to say.

I think most people don't want Nintendo to "join in" with what Sony and Microsoft have been doing. That would entail making motion controls all over again.

AMEN! Nintendo is PERFECTLY fine the way they are. There is no need for Nintendo to be like everyone else.

The very reason Nintendo has been so successful is because they aren't like everyone else, they are quite different and the difference is what makes all the difference in the world. Nintendo is like the "Walt Disney" of the gaming realm and it is because of this that Nintendo will continue to dominate the gaming sphere in the aspects of always being innovative and creative and diverse from PlayStation and Microsoft.

super necro thread powers are goooooooooooooooo~

It is too late for Nintendo. They are too far gone. Soon they will have spun so far into left field that they will crash into the Green Monster.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

I think, everybody is trying to be more like Nintendo.........

Yeah, they've been trying their whole lives to live up to the awesomeness that is Sony, but just can't make it.

I'm sorry Nintendo, you've failed. Go cry in the corner or something.

Sure is weird since Nintendo has been there as a company for much longer.
