When I saw commercials about it on the PSP, I thought it was a dumb game XD I was like, "Really? hunting monsters..." But after watching my friend play Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii, and seeing the 3DS version, I've been excited about it and watching all kinds of videos on Youtube
So, do you think it's a good game? If it ever comes to America, I might try to get it
Yes, get it it...any of them, I don't care, just play it. (I only played Tri, lol) At first I think I was mixing it up with some crappy Pokemon rip off, until seeing some actual trailers. It's mainly just boss battles against large monsters...its my kind of game.

Guess its a good game to start out with...they say Tri is considered easy for veterans. But for newbs like us...it was a pain in the the first time. (lost count on how many times I died against my first Barroth. xD)

I remember hearing warnings that Barroth is where things REALLY pick up on difficulty. lol Now its like...I can kill him with little to no effort now. still have issues with Barioth though. >_>

I still consider it an action game with all the worst elements of RPGs (heavy focus on grinding, crafting, freakin' breakable weapons), but if you like your games to be challenging, tired of games that hold your hand, and don't mind the lack of a story, it's not a bad choice.

Really?! If I get the game, it's going to be torture! I lose so many times playing against Mario and Zelda bosses >.> lol
I can kill a HR 31 Barroth easily now. But offline way back then, I wanted to scream. No warning or anything. I found out real soon too.
Barioth? Hmmm... Since he's one of my favorite monsters I know all his moves and where exactly he flees to. Now Diablos, well, I just hate her. She's still a cool monster nonetheless.
I'm pretty sure these guys here can tell you all about whether or not MH will be a 'good' game or not, SimmerE15. :3

You lose against Mario and Zelda bosses? Those are pre-school when compared to some of the later enemies you'll find in Monster Hunter. Especially if you're by yourself. Granted, the co-op in this game is arguably the best in any game ever, and if you can find a solid group of monster hunting friends then you will have some great fun.

I meant degradeable weapons, I understand the difference. They don't break, just loose sgarpness, etc.
But thats why you get a sharp weapon and carry whetstones on you so you can sharpen your weapon, whenever.
It's still an unncessary element that adds challenge for the sake of it. It's not something I condone, nor should I need to put up with it. I almost gave up on Fallout 3 because I was tired of fixing my weapons, and that was a game I really liked.
Anyways, it's still not an aspect of RPGs that people praise to the high sun or whatever, so my point still stands: of all the RPG elements it could've utilized. it picked the worst ones. At least in my opinion.
