Topic: Is it weird to want more than one copy of a game?

I don't know if something like this has already been started (I'm not going to look through the 100+ pages) but if it has, tell me. I was just thinking I'd get some opinions on this. I own the Mega Man Anniversary collection as well as all 6 NES MM games in cartridge form, and I have 1-3 on VC (gonna get 4). Ialso have both N64 Zelda carts and the Collector's Edition on Gamecube, AND the OoT Master Quest. There's more, but you get the idea. Is it wrong to have this many copies of a game?

I can understand if it's a different version of a game (like the different War for Cybertron games), but otherwise I would say no.

Unless it's a collector's edition or something.

I guess it is sort of weird, but I've always thought I was a tad weird as well. I suppose I just like being able to play them in a bunch of places. Plus, each copy is slighty different.

Its not wrong. Ocarina of Time, for example, most people will own on N64 if they were gaming in that era. Then they got it on the bonus disc with Wind Waker. Maybe, like me, they got it again on the Zelda Collector's Edition disc. Then when Wii and its VC comes along, nostalgia kicks in coupled with being able to play it without a disc, and we buy it again. (I havn't bought it on VC, but I'm sure many people have).
Then Nintendo goes and remakes it for 3DS and we buy it all over again

This pretty much sums it all up. Almost exactly what I was thinking.

I can understand it for a few reasons, like if it's a slight variance of the game, or if it's expensive to certain people and you get it for cheap.
There's also convenience. If you want to play, say, Ocarina of Time, regardless of controller, it would be an okay idea to buy the VC version and just use that for play purposes, instead of digging up the N64, setting it up, putting in the game, blowing out the dust, and then finally starting the game. Then, there's having it on the go, because it's such an awesome game.

these are the games i've bought more than once:
Donkey Kong Country (SNES, GBA)
Donkey Kong Country 2 (SNES GBA)
Super Mario World (SNES GBA)
Super Mario Bros 1-3 (NES SNES)
Metroid (NES,GBA,GCN)
Super Mario 64 (N64,DS)
Zelda Ocarina of Time (N64,GCN,3DS )
I would buy just about all my VC purchases again if it would allow me to play them on the 3DS

Weird and a waste of money unless that 2nd copy gives you a new direction to follow (like owning Super Mario Allstars, but then having some of those games on the GBA on the go,) but that pushes about the limit of weird and wasteful. I have Classic NES SMB1 and Castlevania, still have the originals too but I can't take a TV+NES in my pocket.

I forgot to mention that my Wii, NES, N64, and SNES are all right next to each other. I guess convenience is useless to think about when they are that close.(they're all convenient!) But each system and controller does provide a slightly different experience than the others.

@MegaStoneSmash91: Yes, it is weird to HAVE more than 1 copy of specific titles especially if convenience has nothing to do with it and you are merely interested in possessing them, weirdo. That's exactly the same as me, btw! =D
