I'm guessing the letter L. Yes, the shape of an L. Think of it - it's logical. It has a corner, yet when you look at an L, you always seem to think it's only one-sided. Well, that's my guess. Note it "seems to have one side" in the riddle.
think of it as a cone without a flat bottom... it doesn't really have a 'corner' so much as it has a 'point'.

What do you consider a "side"? Does it have to be a straight line? If it doesn't have to be a straight line, then there are 1-unlimited sides. Can a "V" be a corner, or does it have to be a right angle, like L? "V" can be considered a corner, because the definition of a corner is "the place at which two converging lines or surfaces meet". The key word here is "line". A line is not the same thing as a side. So, a tear drop has one corner and one side.
Well, my logic could be flawed. Reading it back to myself makes it sound ridiculous, so I'm open to hearing someone else's answer.

An L is one dimensional, therefore it has no sides as it is basically two lines.
A shape however, is defined by its curves and corners as well as being two dimensional...

A polygon with one corner has one edge. A circle also has one edge. Well, more generally, a polygon with no corners has one edge. As you go up from more than one corner, you also raise the number of edges linearly I believe.

@Ravage A polygon is a shape made of straight lines. A circle defined as a polygon has infinite edges and corners since it gives the impression of one continuous rounded edge. The more corners, the smoother a curve looks.
Then a 2D teardrop judged as a polygon (counting edges and corners) would have infinite sides too. The curve at the bottom has an infinite number of corners and edges since it is perfectly round.
Of course if it's truly curved (which it is) then it's not a polygon and then you can't really say it has X number of sides.
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
One side. If you trace the path from one corner until you reach the next, you return to the first corner. If you do it the other way, you trace the same path. So it's one-sided.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I suppose I should brush up on my definition.
Other than that, can someone explain to me how this shape can have two "sides"? Other than "inside" and "outside" Brutus. :/ "Range" and "null space".

Riddles don't always follow the logic. Just bear in mind. You confuse yourself by going in-depth, all logical and calculative, when in reality, it's just a simple right-in-front-of-you answer. Of course, I may be totally wrong, but I'm just saying.

i agree with this -- you're getting too in-depth. it might not be wholly correct, but if you're talking 2D shapes, the teardrop fits the general 'one corner, one side' description (if you ignore Chicken Brutus' suggestion of inside and outside, lol) :3
