TL;DR
This thread consists of "Choose your own adventure", most of which will be horror, mystery, and suspense themed. Simply choose the option you want the story to progress with, or in the case of a post with no options, suggest what you want to do.

So a while back I made a thread titled CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE!, but it got buried due to my lack of activity. This was mostly in part to me simply forgetting, and partly because of writers block. But I really liked writing these stories, and I think (or at least hope) those who participated enjoyed it too. I've decided to bring the game back.

PLEASE DON'T LOCK THIS. I tried to find the original thread to revive it, but it's stupidly hard to find your forum posts on this site (seriously, why is that?). Lock the other one if you must.

How to play

• I'll create a story, starting it off with a scenario and a few questions/options of what to do.
• Players will post the choice they want to go with.

-A lot of the stories will have choices you must choose from, but I am considering a few stories where it's not multiple choice and rather simply suggestions. Unless a section has no choices to choose from, please refrain from posting choices that are not listed..

• I will then choose the most popular choice, or in the case of a draw I will pick the first post.
• The story will progress with whatever was chosen and will go on until either the character dies (these will generally be darker stories) or the story ends.

-If the character fails, I will ask if the players want to try again, or if they want to start a new story. Most popular vote wins.

-I will usually wait for at least 3 posts before continuing.

Note: I do have a life, and am even trying to get a job soon, so I may not post for a few days at a time. Don't panic, I promise this thread will not die without warning.

You find yourself standing in your room, near the door, yawning widely. It had been a long day and you are very tired. It's dark, and your bedroom door and curtains are both closed. Your bed is just a few feet from the door, and a two drawer nightstand sits beside it with a lamp on top. To the right of the door is your closet, full of clothes and board games. To the right of that is your dresser, with 3 drawers and 2 cupboards full of socks and underwear, pajamas, and books. A TV with a Wii plugged into it sits atop the dresser.

You...

A) Turn on the lamp.
B) Get in bed and go to sleep.
C) Get into your pajamas.
D) Go to the bathroom.
E) Open the curtains.

B) Get some sleep... who needs pajamas anyways

F) Cut to the chase and grab a knife in anticipation for the serial killer obviously hiding in your basement. _{Don't tell me it isn't bound to happen.}

A serial killer? You must have a little more faith in me, these stories will be far more original than that.

Then... a cereal killer?..

You like having a bit of moonlight shining in as you sleep, so you trudge your way over to the curtains and pull them aside, but the room doesn't get any brighter. It's completely black outside, to the point where you can't even see the ground below, or the tree outside, or even the moon itself. It confuses you for a second, but it doesn't seem all that strange to you. The street lights had been broken for a few days, so it was usually pretty dark. You rub your eyes and yawn once more.

A) Turn on the lamp.
B) Get into bed and go to sleep.
C) Get into your pajamas.
D) Go to the bathroom.

You reach down and turn on the lamp, and the room slowly illuminates. You yawn again and glance over at your bed, before letting out a yell of surprise and backing up against your dresser, nearly knocking back your TV. There was a lump under the covers, slowly pulsing,like a person hiding under them. You live alone. You could hear the breathing, slow and raspy, like it was running out of air. You stand there, staring in fear at your bed, unsure of what to do.

A) Get out of the room.
B) Pull off the covers.
C) Attack it with something.

You hesitantly take a step forward, taking a deep breath. You slowly reach for the edge of the covers, flinching as the lump shifts ever so slightly, then proceed to grip onto the edge, ready yourself to run, and in one quick motion, whip the blankets off while simultaneously running towards the door. You grab the handle, and look back, ready to flee if need be.

What you see makes you stand staring in confusion. Your bed is gone, instead replaced my a large, rectangular, rusted metal drainage pipe coming from your floor. You make your way tentatively towards it, and peer inside. It's too dark to see the bottom, and there's some sort of distant banging noise echoing quietly to the top. You think you see something shining down there and lean closer to try and see. Your heart drops as you feel something push you from behind, down into the hole.

You yell loudly, sitting up, sweating. You look around at your sunlit room, and quickly hop up, whipping off the cover, revealing your crappy mattress. You sigh, realizing how dumb you were for freaking out over such a ridiculous nightmare.

A) Leave the room.
B) Turn on the tv.
C) Grab a book.
