@shaneoh Maybe, I guess you're right if you're just talking about a Mario amiibo, but what about all those on-time-use amiibo like Pit, Bayonetta or Pac-Man? Isn't there a device that can emulate every amiibo anyway?

Amiiqo or something like that. Looked at it, you've really no idea which amiibo you're switching to, unless you have a list sitting in front of you. It also requires you to install the amiibo you want to use to the device. I wouldn't say any amiibo is one time use, some have a generic use in some games (Hyrule Warriors for one), but there's nothing to say they won't get more specific uses down the track.

The big mistake Nintendo made was amiibo exclusivity. If Nintendo was like "This is what you can unlock with amiibo but you can also buy that same content as DLC on the eshop." then everyone would be fine with the amiibo support so far except Samus Returns.

It would be nice if they started selling older waves in card form, preferably as a bundle rather than a random selection. I've been thinking of picking up the unofficial Zelda amiibo cards.

I agree with this. If re manufacturing is too difficult or costly, cards would be a great compromise. Those who are quick can get the figures, and once they're gone they can still be bought for cheap via a card pack. It's not as useful as just having all the content for a small price online, but it'd be a great alternative to how it is now
