But wanted to be able to access your WiiWare/ DSiWare games, you can send both new and old consoles to Nintendo to get the account transfered over, right?

I want to buy a DSi LL, but damn, I don't want to have to download the $400 -odd worth of DSiWare again.

@waltz: your existing DSi would have to be busted or otherwise unplayable for Nintendo to transfer your account/games/whatev for you. they've said they would do it for you in that case only.

Yeah, I'm unaware of any account transfer service. Would have been nice of Nintendo to consider that people might want to buy their hardware more than once!

You'll probably want to call Ninty about that before you take your DSi for a swim. I'm under the impression that usually you send in your busted one, and they send you a new or refurbished DSi of the same model. You may want to call and see if you can "upgrade" to the DSi LL for a fee (isn't it more expensive?) first, just to make sure they'll do that for you.

Seriously though...there's $400 of DSiWare worth buying? I'd think it would be a struggle to find $100 worth of decent stuff on there.

that wouldn't work for what Waltz is describing -- he wants an LL, but he wants all his existing DSiWare on it. aside from the fact that he'd have to wait for an LL that's region-locked to his current DSi's region to be released before that could happen, it's mentioned here and here that you'll need to have already purchased the replacement first if you want your dsiware transferred to a different color console, much less model. :3
