Topic: If you could only game on one line of platforms (one company's home consoles, or one company's handheld consoles), which would you choose? (ie. Nintendo's handhelds, Sony's home consoles, PC, etc.)

I know a lot of like have a diversity of platforms to play on, but what is the platform (line) that you couldn't imagine being as much of a gamer without?

For me it's the PlayStation home consoles. I love playing Nintendo handhelds and on their home consoles and a little PC too, but when I think about what makes up most of my gaming diet and where I spend most of my time, it's on PS consoles. I just couldn't imagine being as much of a gamer without them, so I if I could only game on one platform line, it would have to be PlayStation home consoles.

Playstation home consoles. I really, really, love Nintendo consoles but they don't offer the same diversity and third party support that Playstation does.

Oddly enough I have no opinion on this. Especially, since I was an avid Nintendo fan brat back in middle school.
Now, I'm kind of sandwiched between PlayStation and Nintendo. I don't really care for PS's 1st party but I like me some JRPGs... but the same same I still love Nintendo games.
I think it would have come down to what games appealed to me more, and how many.

Nintendo handhelds, I guess. Really hard decision. I love my Nintendo and Sony consoles, but if I had nothing except a backlit Gameboy Advance and 3DS XL, I wouldn't be able to complain.

Nintendo home consoles, all of my favourite IPs are Nintendo ones (expect Nintendo will be the most common answer of a Nintendo news site)

Nintendo's handhelds, obviously. Most of my gaming is done on PC though, so if that counts then PC would have to be my pick. There's really no competition there.

I honestly can't decide. There's too many franchises I like amongst every category among the big 3 right now.

If I get to keep my PC: Nintendo home consoles.

If I can only pick one: PC.

I know that it'd be a pick between Nintendo's handelds and Nintendo's home consoles, but I can't decide either. Both have their pros and cons. So... something like that.

Nintendo handhelds. I'm more of a handheld person and Nintendo handhelds tend to have a very nice selection of simulation games, puzzle games, JRPGs and SRPGs. Also, the physical backwards compatibility that they tend to have with the previous generation of their handheld is nice, so I have plenty to play. Most of my gaming time is done on my 3DS XL/2DS nowadays.

Nintendo home consoles. Nothing brings smile to my face quite like their games.

Philips home consoles, as they were home to the best Zelda games.

Man, this is a tough one because I love Playstation consoles(best home consoles on the market right now in my opinion), but Nintendo is still the king of handheld gaming, and I love having a portable console I can carry around with me.

But if I had to pick one, it would be Nintendo's handhelds simply because of Smash Bros, the Virtual Console that has a wide array of classic games that I still love to play, and the overall enjoyment Nintendo's games bring to the table. That, and I find my self picking up my 2DS a bit more than my PS3 controller, although I love both consoles. Plus, it's nice to have a system I can play while watching TV or sitting on a couch that can also double as a portable Hulu player.

But this is a tough one. The PS3 is still a great console,. and it is arguably the best console on the market right now... Man, I really hope I never have to give up my PS3! So many awesome games are on that system alone!

But alas, portability, Smash Bros, and a bigger selection of classic games gives the 3DS the win. In terms of newer games, the PS3 edges out the 3DS slightly(although, its not a fair comparison given the age and power difference between the two.)

I can't decide

Nintendo home consoles. My backlog when it comes to most Nintendo console games is staggering. I still have yet to play my first Metroid game or Banjo-Kazooie.

Nintendo handhelds...I'm on them more often than home consoles.

I'll say Nintendo handhelds.

I get to play all my favorite 1st party Nintendo games, and quite a bit of Japanese third party games as well.

Nintendo handhelds. I have owned every single generation of handhelds since the Game Boy. The 3DS so far is the most impressive handheld to date with an amazing release schedule in 2013 (Fire Emblem, Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing, etc.)

Tough one - my favourite games of all time are all on PS2, but the games I play the most are on Nintendo consoles.... but I'd go for Nintendo home consoles, I suppose. And probably regret my decision to some extend.

Sony consoles probably, but it would suck to not have Nintendo anymore
