Superman... i honestly don't think videogames would exist today at all without Mario if you remember, "video game" was taboo at the dawn of the NES, after the decline of the Atari with its legions of mass-produced shovelware. it was R.O.B. that allowed Ninty to market the NES as a "robotic toy", and get it into people's homes, then it was Mario who kept it there. without him, i think that the NES would have been fairly quickly dismissed as a fad, and after failing twice, the videogame (including pc game) industry would have been dead forever. i think even you, Superman, owe a lot to Mario.
