Topic: If each console were the same price....

And you had no console as of now, would you still have bought the wii or would you have bought a different console

I would buy a wii still because im a nintendo guy, and love certain games like brawl, galaxy, corruption, and such. However, a PS3 would have been very tempting seeing as they have fight night 4, STREET FIGHTER 4 (GAWD DANGIT), Killzone, and other titles that i really wish could have been on wii instead (imagining they were the same quality, what a dream!)

Is the option to only buy one? I'd still buy both if I could, regardless of price, but if I had to buy only one (and assuming I hadn't already sold all my retro consoles in anticipation of the VC), I'd choose PS3 for its new games. It'd still be a tough call though.

Wii hands down. Call me a fanboy if you like. But there isnt much on the PS3 and XBOX360 tha interests me. Im one of those who hate blood and gore filled mindless action games and FPSs. Im a more of an puzzle adventure with some action, platforming, Old School games and just happen to like Nintendo series. Mario, Zelda, Metroid,SSB, Mario Kart, retro games and many other 3rd party games. Im happy!

By puzzle, I meant the puzzles in Zelda and Metroid. For my puzzle and RPG needs, there is WiiWare and my DSi!

Wii. For VC and Nintendo games. I could never be happy whilst unable to play Nintendo games. I'd look at my console with disgust the moment I remembered there is no eight-way on the analogue. Game-breaker!

ya i'd go with wii because i dont like mindless shooters. I love nintendo too and it has a good vc and wiiware

I couldnt live having a non nintendo console, and not having a Nintendo console. They are just so GOOD!!!

When I bought my Wii the biggest reason I did was the VC and Mario Kart was coming out soon. I also wanted Twilight Princess and I also knew that the Nintendo systems usually last a long time. I was tempted to get a 360 but ultimately I got bored with my original XBOX and bought a Gamecube followed by a ps2. When I looked at the reviews on sites and the games each platform had I knew that the Wii was the way to go and I would have to say to this day the Wii as its unique and ultimately there are some really great games for the system and soon to be even more.

It wouldn't be easy to go with only one given my multi-system ways (I have all three), but I'd have to go with Nintendo as well, simply because they have Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc. We are assuming I can still have my DSi for RPG's, right? (since Wii still has almost no options in that genre)

Despite my huge temptation for the Playstation 3, as a Nintendo loyalist, I will always side by Nintendo.

Several 'big name' (and small name) games for 360 and PS3 are available on PC....Nintendo lives on exclusives.

That's his point... It's not a false question; that is the question, as I understand it. If price had nothing to do with it, what would you choose? Basically, if the choice were solely determined by features and games, which would you prefer? People who don't own PS3s greatly underestimate the amount of quality exclusives it has, but as always, that comes down to personal tastes.

One thing the question doesn't take into account is price of peripherals and controllers. If only the systems are same price, Wii would be most expensive if you want to play all it has to offer. I've spent nearly as much on controllers, controller extensions, balance board, and plastic shells as I have on games, haha. Of course, you don't need it all to enjoy a Wii, but I'm unfortunately a bit obsessive and like to have the latest gadgets no matter how few games will use them in the long run.
