I have always known Pokemon, but i never really embraced it like Super Mario.
So what's the ideal Pokemon game for a newbie, who has a lot to learn?

Cheers! I really want to be a Pokemon geek, I'm watching the Black & White cartoon as we speak lol.
I might try and find a Pokemon Gameboy console on eBay or something. They look pretty neat lol.

It honestly doesn't matter. I'd only advise against buying Black/White 2, considering they are direct sequels.

I'd highly recommend Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver. They're generally considered to be the best Pokemon games on the DS.

I had fun once and it was awful.

All of them are pretty noob friendly, but I guess I'd suggest FireRed or LeafGreen, IIRC those ones had quite a bit of tutorial stuff added, like a in game help menu.
