Yeah price isn't too much of an issue right now, what kind of chairs do you people use, though? I mainly care about comfort and long-lasting, because I'm at my computer/TV CONSTANTLY. I'm always afraid these chairs will wear out quickly, or the leather would peel within months or something.

Also, like with some of the TVs, I heard mixed reviews with some of the more popular chairs. Like, they don't last that long or something. >.<

@Joeynator3000 I'd say just read the reviews I posted, and cross-compare them, or Google for a third or fourth comparison, and I'd think that it's safe to say that the ones that end up in the top 2/top 3 the most times, are all safe bets to buy. And companies like X Rocker have a reputation to think of, so if they sell lousy stuff, they'll soon enough have more bad reviews than good ones, so I think that's a pretty safe bet as well.

But me, I just play games in my regular desk chair on my PC, or I swivel it around towards the TV, and then there's a big couch in the living room as well. I don't really feel like spending extra cash on a gaming chair myself, but if I would, then I would most certainly look up such comparisons as well, much like I did with the TV reviews and so on.

By the way: my PC desk chair is a cheap-ass chair from IKEA, and it has already lasted for two years, and will probably last a lot longer still. No defects yet, far as I can tell. And it was a self-build project too.

Another handy tip might be to look up YouTube videos of chair reviews, and there's also a lot of these game room/game cellar/man cave videos that also display a multitude of game chairs, so if these semi-rich collectors/YouTubers choose these specific chairs, then they must surely be good enough...

@Octane That's easy for you to say, but what would the store clerks say if he stayed there to try them out for months, just to see if they do indeed fall apart after a certain period of usage?

This, the stores will all tell me "this is the best chair!" "No this is also the best chair!", they'll just try to sell it to me. I want to know if a chair will stay comfortable and last for a long time since I'll use it constantly.

On Amazon, I've seen "Best sellers" chairs, or "top quality" ones where reviewers have stated that they started seeing tears and stuff within months. I don't want to buy a $400 chair only to notice it getting holes in it easily after a few months, or the seat wearing out and becoming less comfortable within the same amount of time. :/

EDIT: Also, I found out what was interesting me with movies on 4K TVs and apparently it's not a 4K TV-only thing...and apparently all the big sites/journalists and movie-makers hate the feature like the plague. Because it makes the movies look "too real"...? Wat? Screw you! xD

Funny how we all care about smooth and high FPS in video games, but in movies, no, it's the worst thing ever. xD

@Joeynator3000 Yeah, that's all about the soap opera effect, and higher frame rates/refresh rates. It's the reason why movies are still made in a lower frame rate, because that creates that "cinematic" effect of sweeping vistas, and all these other emotion-evoking tricks that you'll never get in live TV or indeed, in soap operas.

But it's true. A while back, I watched a series that I follow, I believe it was NCIS, at my sister's house. She also has a 4K TV, and it did indeed look more like live TV than instead of what I was used to, so it's almost like you're there when they shoot the episode, instead of seeing it afterwards, but I suppose you get used to it after a while. It'll probably be a novelty for just as long as going from CRT to flat screen and from non-HD flat screen to Full HD flat screen. It's new, for now. But it'll probably grow on us, and if not, then tough luck, because 4K is here to stay, and pretty soon, no "normal" HD TV will be available anymore, so we've little choice but to indeed get used to it.

Yeah, I saw the first Transformers being played with the effect and I thought that it looked pretty awesome. Maybe it isn't for everything (like 2D animation for example, or some video games), but I watch a lot of scifi and CGI movies. Now I'm curious to see more of it. Good to know that it doesn't have to be a 4K movie, even though I'm still getting a 4K TV, because why not? lol

@Joeynator3000 The FPS thing is different between movies and games because they are different. Games tend to be sprites or polygons whereas movies are usually live action. And games benefit from maximum clarity. That's the foundation for why there is a different preference. I was just recently looking into high-FPS video. It looks very strange to me. It is not "too real". To me, it looks unreal. Someone pointed out that typical high-FPS video lacks motion blur that you get in 24fps film. But there is motion blur in real life. It's not that people are trained to like 24 fps as is so commonly repeated. Higher frame rates look weird compared to real life. But if you like it, and I'm not trying to influence you one way or another, then you have the option as it seems to be a common feature now.

I prefer 60 fps in any game no doubt but sometimes a very stable 30 fps with a correct frame pace, that is, every frame lasts the same amount of time, is mostly fine in certain genres, e.g. the new Tomb Raider games. These games offer different video modes on Xbox One X, something that I wish that all developers did, and the enriched visuals mode at 30 fps is fine.

The best thing about the LG C9 (or similar models) is not 4K but the OLED image quality and contrast. Yes, 4K is better than 1080p but there are more noticeable and enjoyable benefits. When I compare my HD TV with the LG C9 the last thing I appreciate is the resolution difference.

8K is absolutely unnecessary unless you are using a really huge panel and, in my opinion, fps is always more important than a higher resolution and I have said this during the whole current generation when some games were trying to reach higher resolutions with a totally messy frame rate even on Xbox One X, e.g. Anthem.

@BlueOcean
60 fps in everything is not really good idea.
Some RPG games will looks like Telenovela by constant 60 fps.

Mine is White color Sharp Aquos 32' with Component, HDMI and USB slots.
The other model of Sharp Aquos don't have Component slot, instead they have Composite (Red, Yellow, White) slot.
Well, the display of games with HD output looked pretty good on Sharp Aquos.
Btw, my Sharp TV model is already more than 10 years old and still working.

lol my TV is a Sharp Aquos but it's an old ass 1080i one from years ago. It only has one HDMI port but I have a splitter connected. Don't think there's any USB ports or anything, though, but I could be wrong.

So yeah, I was going to grab a gaming chair, but I decided that I just want a normal-looking chair with leather. Gonna get something from Serta since I'm getting an iComfort bed, might as well get an iComfort chair as well now that I know they make those.

As for my TV, yeah, I'll have to mess around with the settings depending on what games I'm playing, or movies/videos I'm watching. It'll be interesting. I'm also very likely going to FINALLY buy and play Super Mario Odyssey for once, I kept putting it off for some reason, lol.

That all said, I basically have everything picked out for my room upgrade, now the really hard part is here....waiting. I gotta wait till next month for the money. >.<

@Joeynator3000 Well, good that you made your choices, so congrats. And Mario Odyssey is a really enjoyable game, so I'm all but sure that you won't regret getting that either.

Yeah I always wanted it but was always saving up for something else. Now I'm able to finally grab a few games I missed out on and not have to worry about saving on big stuff anymore. Always had an old bed and I really need a new full memory foam mattress (also this stupid old metal frame literally sticks out and I've lost count on how many times I banged my foot or scraped it against that thing, lol). My TV, eh, it works, whatever...but it's also old, and small (1080p, but still). My chair and desk are also the same story, also my desk is missing the back stands thing...

Yeah...so glad that this finally happening. xD

That said, I heard that the C9 handles scaling very well with some Switch games, and Mario Odyssey is apparently one of them. So, I'm curious to see how that'll look. xp

@Joeynator3000 Yeah, I've been reading up on the C9 as well, and things are looking VERY good indeed. Haven't got the extra cash right now, but it's DEFINITELY on my list. Be sure to let us know once you've got it in your home and up and running.

And don't forget to activate "game mode" to get the best/most suitable results...

Yeah I know, I'm still gonna toy with some features, though...
Like...dare I say it...TruMotion or whatever they call it. Yes I'm curious about, yes I know it's the most hated thing in the universe, I think it looks decent, get over it. lol

@Joeynator3000 TruMotion? Is that the motion blur thingy? I'd probably switch that off on day one, depending on how overbearing and/or annoying the effect is. I used to have an old widescreen TV that had the same effect, albeit by default, when switching to 100Hz, and that caused a rather annoying effect of vague stripes and ghosting of motion, especially visible in sports matches, such as in soccer, when a ball was kicked, and while it flew through the air, it was followed by what almost looked like a white smoke trail...

I think it's worse in older TVs, I've seen them on the modern ones and they look fine to me. Could also be the type of TV as well, like I said I have to play around with it, and from what I've seen the C9 has several options for it. (like Smooth, Clear, stuff like that...)

@Joeynator3000 If you bought the LG C9, where'd you buy it? or do you know where you want to buy it?

EDIT: You can disregard if you don't know yet. Going back through this page and the previous page, I had a hard time telling if you bought a TV or not.
