Well first, we don't usually allow people to advertise their own sites here. You're welcome to put the link in your signature, but creating more topics to publicise your site is a no-no.
As for tips, make it a fun place to be and people will visit there. Look to get regular members before admins and moderators, too — you should always have more Indians than Chiefs.
Other than that, have fun and I look forward to your site overtaking NL in the future
