I think they should do what Dead or Alive: Dimensions does (not sure if other DoA games do this too as Dimensions is the only one I've played) and allow the player to unlock character voices for the announcer and select who the announcer would be from a menu. For example, you could unlock Mario or Captain Falcon as the announcer. Although it might not work with Pokemon, Mr. Game and Watch and any other characters that don't speak normally or with characters that don't speak at all like Link and Donkey Kong.
