Hey guys, I got this neat tip on the Flipnote Hatena telling you how to fix your broken L/R buttons on your DSi. I saw alot of you guys posting in various other forums about your L/R buttons being broken, so when I saw the Flipnote I decided to make a topic about it........ First of all, the reason your button is broken is because there is dirt or dust between the sensor and the button. SO HOW DO YOU FIX IT? Well, simple! Just blow in the side of the button where the crack is between the button and your DSi. (Pic below)

This worked for my bro's broken R button.
Happy gaming with working buttons!

If you blow into it you'll have to do every so often and the moisture can lead to some problems, it's recommended that you use compressed air.

So, put it next to a mini fan for a few minutes?

I don't know about that, it might clear it but I'm not sure about potential consequences. Cans of Compressed Air is what I've been told to use for cleaning underneath buttons and such.

Well, I only had to blow in my bro's DSi button once, and a month later it's still working fine.

I tryed that about a month ago when it first happen with me and my L button. It seems to work o.k. now, but I still have problems with it working the first time I press it. I might have to tap 2 or 3 times before it starts working. I have one of those air machines so i'll try that if it gets really bad. Intil that happens i'll just blow and pray that no mositure is getting in my Dsi.

Sometimes your buttons, the buttons might be broken but in a sense not broken. Well my black DSi, when I gave my DSi a shake towards the button that stopped working....Ta-dah! it worked.

That was the case for my left shoulder button on my first DSi.

So smashing the buttons against a hard object is not a good idea?
