Wouldn't work. The first time someone refers to you by a name is the name you would be assigned for the notebooks purpose (even if they mistakenly thought you were someone else). Also the owner of the notebook would just need to touch it with a pen with your face in mind, and you'd die (as long as they didn't write an actual name, it's still putting your name in the notebook).
Convert to Islam and start wearing a hijab or a burqa if your not doing so already. It covers your face in a acceptable way and it protects you from the Shinigami Eyes, if you're a girl. Otherwise be a Hikikomori, aka acute social withdrawal, or a shut in. With technology now a day, it's becoming sadly easier.
