Blue? Medium? Charcoal? When you go to a food place thing, or cook your own food, how do you like that steak cooked?
For me. If it's cheap meat, it's got to be well done. Never know where that cheap cow has been.
Wagyu, on the other hand, should be medium at most. While I could never eat blue, I rather like medium rare there.
Naturally I don't think the vegetarians or vegans will get much out of this discussion. I'll make a "how do you take your carrot" thread in a week or two to balance things out
rare plz. just cook it long enough for it to be nice and warm in the center and let me chow the hell down. mmmmm, beef.

you can always rename the thread — in fact i'd recommend you do so before we get anyone making a crude sexual joke out of it, really.
that said, yes, i do prefer the surface seared — i don't think i've ever been to a steak joint that didn't do that, actually. as for other meats, i prefer my chicken, pork, and fish all cooked thoroughly. I've had sushi before, and i'm just not a fan, i'm afraid.

Is it possible to get undercooked chicken and pork in America? I know in Australia rare chicken is right out of the question, but regulations mean that semi-raw pork is perfectly safe.
I think Japan has raw chicken, though. Japan has raw freaking everything. My wife's had Fugu, and I commend her bravery.
@waltz: don't you ever cook at home? lol, i always make sure to cook my chicken and pork thoroughly, i mean. i've undercooked chicken before on accident, and i didn't really enjoy it. :3

I can't cook to save my life. True story: I've set off a fire alarm by burning instant noodles (or 2 minute noodles, depending on where you're from).
Luckily my better half is a really good cook, and she doesn't mind cooking, as long as I make coffee. And I'm a very good barrista. That worked out nicely, really.
I can imagine the texture of undercooked chicken would be nasty. :-/
I'd prefer my steak to be well done. It's been a while since I've had steak though. I wasn't too fond of anything under well-done because it always seemed a bit...chewier than I'd liked?
EDIT: @1: that steak looks a little frozen...or fake

That there is Wagyu beef. The greatest thing ever given to mankind.
Finally! A thread that makes senes to me. As I raise my wine glass, "Let them eat meat!"
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
braised pork chops are lovely, give them a try. if you don`t eat pork, lamb chops can be used as a good substitute. i love roast chicken, kentucky fried is good too. lemon sole and hoki are my favourite fish. coated in either batter or bread crumb.
