I love Uncharted, and think it Nathan Drake is a great character, so I chose him. I had a different picture of him at first, but then I found this one thought it fit me better, and was just a better avatar, so I changed it to this. I had to white out one thing in it, but that was all the editing I had to do for it.
I carried the avatar that I used on IGN, when they started letting everyone have them. Never changed it since.
I have this tendency of connecting avatars to usernames (specially for quick browsing of comments) so it makes it easier for me when people keep the same avatar. I can look for my friends' comments and avoid the annoying ones easily.
I thought I was the only one who did that. I recognize users quickly using their avatars. You'll know it's me, because it's a picture of the Blue Inkling.
I also do that. It can throw me off when someone changes their avatar. One reason I don't want to change my avatar is that I'm pretty sure I'm recognized by this one now. Maybe one day I'll change it though, and throw everyone off.
I change mine fairly regularly (every every month and a half on average). Generally because I used to connect the avatar with a type of false identity after a while instead of just seeing it as me - I feel like I'm roleplaying instead of simply writing, so to speak. So I gotta keep things fresh every once in a while, gets me in a fresher state of mind. In fact, I'll probably have a new avatar by the end of the month. This one's getting old.
