The closest an American gets to being civilized, is taking the gherkin out of his Big Mac.

No, I jest, of course.

Yeah, but don't tar everyone with the same brush, matey.

I used the smile emoticon then, because my comments were actually light-hearted, and I wanted to convey this.

Well that's good to know, Trin. It might be helpful to mention it from time to time to reduce the risk of our many newcomers getting a wrong first impression.

And I left the smiley out of my last post just to keep you honest.

I really don't see what you are saying here. 6 million Jews were murdered by the German state, and you, as a German, get angry if anyone mentions it?

No i get angry because everyone talks just of them and not about the other 6 million people who got killed. Its like the other 6 million people are just 2nd class and not important.

Well, in the civilized world (Europe ) we know the score.

I can, of course, not speak for our American friends, across the pond.

Are you so "civilized" that the Atlantic Ocean is a pond?

Actually, this thread reminded me of another good one:

Too many people assume Hitler had a pet personal hate just for Jews. Not true. He was moving to systematically exterminate the gypsy (Romani) race as well.

I can't remember the term used, but he didn't want another war with U.S., Britain, etc. because they were of the same "race". I think it started with an 'a'...it's going to really bug me now.
Anyway, for those like Machu on the religion thing, look up George Carlin on youtube. He's a comedian, but he sometimes goes on a swearing streak, so watch at your own caution if you don't like that.

America was named after Amerigo Vespucci.

It is actually not a historical fact and historians disagree wether or not America was really named after him.

@Ravage I believe you are thinking of Aryan Race

My only Holocaust question is this, why do people consider you a Holocaust denier if you think the number 6,000,000 is inflated? It's not like you're saying it didn't happen just that it's been inflated by a few million. (I admit it, I got called that for asking about that in college. I am so glad I left that Left Leaning School of Lower Learning)

I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.

I can't say why they called you a denier, but they probably just took issue with your claim (I'm guessing you didn't have any evidence to support it). It's still a touchy subject for many people.
P.S: That bit on the end makes you sound bitter.

@The Fox I called the school that before the Holocaust thing happened. I had a government professor fail me and a few other students because we were part of the Young Republicans. We went to the head of the school and he said that it was the professors discretion to teach what he wants, not necessarily the facts. Needless to say we finished out the semester then transferred to different schools.

Hitler didin't believe Britain and the US were Aryan, but mostly Anglo-Saxon which he considered to be higher than most. It may have been partly why Hitler was hesitant to invade or even bomb Britian for a long time.

Karl Marx wrote that his ideas should be developed further and left certain things quite vague such as Dictatorship of the Proletariat. His ideas of past economic eras were quite generalized, but certainly not without truth. When it came to the future he didn't lay down a very clear course. Not all developments of his theory are that absurd. The Leninist-Hobson theory has a lot to be said for it. Fun fact, Engels actually owned a factory.

With regards to the holocaust, the only thing that annoys me is that other genocides are often not mentioned, like the one which occured in Armenia.

As for Darwin, it always fascinates me that some American Republicans are so keen to apply Darwinian ideas to the economy and yet not for what the theory was actually intended for. From what I can tell many of these Republicans are from rural areas where people actually select animals to breed for certain characteristics. How they can't imagine this on a grander scale is beyond me.

The united Nations is not made up of nations, but is made up of states. The states already stole the name for their own, improper use. The United States should be the United Nations. Silly Americans
