Headphones, we all love em, we need em, we buy em and yes we break em. Headphones are iconic and they've become a pop culture icon in their own right.
I'm sure that I'm not the only sentient being upon this earth that has gone through more than one pair of headphones. Right now I think I'm on like the sixth pair of headphones and that isn't counting all the headphones I sent to the River Stix back when was I small. Headphones are easy to misplace, damage and lose forever. As to how I and why I've gone though so many headphones? Well, I like to stick my earbuds in my pocket and then I sit on them (accidentally) and they go crunch and I go 'Oh snapies, not again'. Sometimes I stuff headphones in tight quarters and at other times I step on them or the sweet little puppy chews em like a baby's teething toy.
So folks, how many headphones have you gone through? What's the main reason why you break/loose them?
Oh, and just to be cliché, let's sway to Brit Nicole's Headphones. [youtube:46M3eC43EZ4]

I busted my nicest pair once: I had 'em plugged into my DS and hanging around my neck, and as I walked past a door the wire caught on the door-handle and YANK. The jack was ripped out.
Never broken a pair by leaving them around though.
The headphones I'm currently wearing are damaged in such a way that the right headphone bit slips out very easily - I've had to secure it with insulation tape. Also, a few days ago, I caught the wire underfoot and yanked the plug out of my computer. It bent the jack 45 degrees and I had to bend it back.
Otherwise, I've only ever had earphones, and apart from general failure, they make my earholes sore.
But I've always wanted to get a new pair of headphones. The ones I own are handed down from my brother (I think they were broken even then).
My skull candies or whatever they were called literally fell apart a few days after I bought them for no apparent reason. Since then I've stuck with the regular iPod ones.

I found these Headphones back in Janurary. I've never been able to wear earbuds, they are to small and fall out of my ears. I love my new ones, I can actually hear every part of the song, and I don't need to turn them up to loud.
Oh, nice! I have that same model of earphones (Sony, though) and they worked out fine for me. Both the Headphones and the Earbuds for around $14? I'm sold! As soon as I get enough money.
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
I'v gone trough too many to keep count. Usually they break from being left beside the bed, resulting in me stepping on them next morning. Or they just get worn out.
Currently i use a pair of these as iphone headset, for calls, podcasts and some casual music listening. If i listen to music at home or plan ahead that i will listen to much music when i go out, i use these.
Since I started using earbuds, I haven't broken any (the big old plastic ones were ripe for stepping on though). I've lost a couple earbuds, and I find that they do tend to start losing their volume after a year or two. Then when you get new ones, you realize how bad they have gotten.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
Ah, those? Ya, umm..ahem...you can find those beyond enchanted Nightosphere and behind the Rainicorn starsfields of tomorrow in the land of Ooo where Finn and Jake ask BMO to turn the volume down while playing Retro Nintendo Classics.
Ohh...wait I think these are what you're looking for:
