For those unaware, makeup jumped on this trend years ago, with HD makeup (supposed to be more masking for use in high-definition media, so imperfections are even less visible than with non-HD makeup) and I've seen a few similar cash-ins on the new HD popularity. It's a lot like Plasma TVs starting to list their refresh rate as 600hz to make them seem more impressive than the new generations of 120hz and 240hz, despite the subfield technology in Plasma being an entirely different entity. Whatever gets people to notice the product.
