Topic: Hawken

Anyone play Hawken? It's a free-to-play FPS, but you pilot huge mechs. And free-to-play in the good way. Spend in-game currency on upgrades that matter, spend real money on cosmetic stuff. It's very fast-paced and not the stupid one-shot kill stuff every shooter lives by these days. You have to fight strategically with your team.
Oh and it's PC only for the time being. It's in open beta.

Hopefully they treat their user base better than Aeria games.

EDIT: That video has made me want to re-watch Evangelion.

No idea what Evangelion is. But this game kind of reminds me of Custom Robo actually.

An Anime featuring giant Humanoid Robots (sort of). Not sure how this would remind you of it, though. If anything, this reminds me of Battletech and Mechwarrior.

But yes, I'm all for this. I hope I can run it, though...

EDIT: I can't run it, by a mile, and I'm quite a bit short of the Mechwarrior Online minimum specs, too. When will I ever be able to satiate my desire to pilot a mech?!

It reminds me of Custom Robo in that you can customize various parts of your mech, such as primary and secondary weapons as well as other items, you can swap out parts and paint, and you dash around and can spend a lot of time in the air.

Buy Scribblenauts Unlimited, I have one that shoots exploding toothpaste.
I'd try this, but on a 3DS and all I doubt it would work.

Mechwarrior also did that, especially 4. In fact...that's a staple of Mecha games. Just to let you know in case you ever feel like playing something like Mechwarrior or Armored Core.

Hmmm....On the one hand I loved the Xbox Mechwarrior games, which this seems to be quite similar to. On the other hand I've hand nothing but bad luck with betas in the past few years. Decisions, decisions....
