Everone on Xbox One has it now, but it's basically useless, because the programs you would get from the Windows Store didn't carry over, and yes, it matters.

Now, it's time to wait for Windows 11 or 12; whichever comes next.
They won't exist. Microsoft has said that Windows 10 will be the final "version" of Windows. They're just going to continue to update and build on Windows 10, and they want to drop the 10 and have the OS just be called Windows in the future.
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)

But how will they make money then?
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

The same way Apple makes money? They don't charge for their OS.
EDIT: They will still get money from the people who build their own PCs because you need to buy a retail version of Windows 10, and when people buy a PC, Microsoft will get a cut of the money because its their own OS, just like always. Really, it's meant to compete with Apple and their free OS upgrades, because I'd imagine that a lot of people got fed up with putting down money on newer versions of Windows. Now if only they could make Microsoft Office free much like Apple has made iWork free.

Ya, well someone in the world will probably call it Windows 11, for whatever reason; probably Bill Gates.
I think most of the money is coming from publishing and like brewsky said; buying at the store.

The only thing they'd lose are the sales to people upgrading from one version of Windows to another. I suspect that's only a small part of their revenue. Most people don't upgrade their OS until they've got new hardware. If they did Windows XP wouldn't still be the second most common OS on the internet....
edit: BTW, I said on the first page that I had upgraded to Windows 10. I'm still using it and have now upgraded a few of my other machines. Haven't had a single issue with it so far. Infact a few issues I had with Windows 8.1 on my desktop have gone since I upgraded to 10. Not only that but older Windows 7 machines are quite a bit more responsive running Windows 10.
Been the tester since it was out and I must admit that I'm having a much better time than I had with earlier Windows. Never have seen the blue screen of death or anything similar. There is a big update out but I didn't install it yet, but it probably won't change much.
I would gladly see how Windows 10 operates on phones and I even have an invitation for a show in my country, but I'm not sure if I want to travel a few hundred kilometers just to play around with a smartphone.

I have a Windows Phone lying around and I tried a beta not that long ago. A lot of stuff didn't work well yet, so I'm not even sure it'll be fully ready by the end of the year when it should be released. Windows 10 on tablets/PC was a lot futher in preview form at the beginning of the year than it is now on Phones.

Well it's on the upcoming phones, so I'm sure it will be a better build or at least optimised, but being a happy Android user for two years I just lost interest I don't use my phone much so looks are very important to me and these Lumias just look a bit cheap with their soft plastic.
...Ok my computer is bugging the crap out of me. It's getting annoying, has anything changed? Should I just say "screw it" and upgrade?
what exactly do you mean with "bugging the crap out of me"?
what specs does your pc have and what are you doing with it and what do you want to do with it?
have you tried cleaning your HDD with tools like ccleaner and defragmentation?
even cleaning the hardware from dust can help in some cases...haha cases. you see what i did there?
