Topic: Have you ever got robbed?

On June 24th (a day after my freakin' BIRTHDAY), somebody had broken into my dad's place and seized my Wii, Dad's personal laptop, the DS I just recieved last Christmas, and a few choice games (it may seem they have an acquired taste in their choice of games, since they prefered Ōkami and Muramasa: The Demon Blade over SSBB).

So yeah, I created this thread out of pure intrest if somebody (other than me) has been a victim of theft recently or a while back.

So, dish.

You searched the ground underneath this signature, but all you found was this lousy backlog...

That stinks, man. I've never been robbed, but I know how sad I would be if I found out someone broke in. The fact that the guy didn't take SSBB reminds me of a commercial where a robber took everything except for an outdated computer.

I've been robbed a couple times actually--once at knife point after a show, once my car got broken into at a friend's apartment, and in highschool a friend of mine was...injured...doing something foolish. I'd rather not delve into details given the nature of that situation, but yup--it sucks. Very humbling and makes you feel like you aren't in control of anything.

Someone tried to rob me while i was sleeping after hearing a weird noise grabbed a baseball bat knocked him with a hit in his head and tied and locked him in a closet while I was waiting for the cops. He was a wanted man so the cops payed me 500$ bucks.

Nah, I've been pretty lucky that way. Although every fall I have situations that closely resemble this:

Never. But once, some person broke into my dads car when noone was around and stole several things from there, including among other things a small lcd screen which was on the ceiling and a car dvd player. Apparently the person didn't steal the car itself because some neigbours noticed him (we were on a trip, the car was with some family friends).

He found and left behind my long-lost Yu-Gi-Oh cards.
He also left a rather big keyring filled with keys for all kinds of cars too.

Also, once some random dude killed us in a car accident and asked several family members and friends for money to "recover the bodies".
It was fun to know i died several miles away from were i was at the momment!

No, but somebody (likely teenagers) broke into my neighbor's house with a crowbar. They didn't take anything small, they just broke everything. They broke everything breakable, they punched holes in the walls. And then they hot-wired their car and stole that.

My original Game Boy got stolen only about a month or so after I got it. I was only 12 at the time, so I was pretty crushed.

Gameboy Advance SP, with copy of Metroid: Zero Mission inside it was stolen by my former roommate's crackhead brother for drug money. He also stole my roommate's PS2 (which was a brand new system at the time), our weedeater, and several other things I can't remember. Flash forward several years and he's in prison for production of meth. Such a classy, classy individual.

I never had anything broken into but I had a similar situation like Mully. Back when my family moved from Reno while we were looking for a place of our own we moved in with the in laws. My brother in law who was into drugs at the time would have some questionable people over at the house and one of the stole my Gamboy Advanced SP with Mario Kart Super Circuit in it along with a bunch of Gamecube games of mine and took them into Gamestop to get money for his habit. Back than my son was going around writing his initials on everything that he could get his hands on including the Gamecube games that were stolen, my GBA and Mario Kart Super Circuit. Imagine my surprise when I went in to buy the stuff again from Gamestop and found my stuff.

When I explained to situation to the Gamestop employee that they were mine and that they were stolen from me he refused to give them back to me. One of the many reasons I hate Gamestop. Anyway I filed a police report against Gamestop for having stolen property. I cant say what the result was due to an agreement with Gamestop.

Also when I was in elementary school I was saving up all my birthday money, allowances to buy Ducktales on the NES and the money went missing. I always suspected one of my brothers friends but I never had the proof except that all of a sudden he had a bunch of money one day which he claimed he was saving. This was from a guy who couldnt save money for nothing.

My original GBA SP was taken from me by some kid I met at a soccer game. I never saw him again, unfortunately....

My car has been broken into twice. Once they completely ripped out my cd player, about 5 years ago. Recently too somebody must have used a slim jim to break into my car. Screwed the locking mechanism all up as the lock was loose and even the handle. Eventually I had to replace the lock and handle which was $200! From now on I just leave my car unlocked with 0 valuables inside because whoever wants in will get in anyway. Just don't break my stuff please lol.

I used to have an old Mercury Grand Marquis with window motors that didn't work, so half the time at least one of the windows would be impossible for me to raise or lower fully... it was broken into a few times. i never kept anything important in it, though, because i knew it was a risk, so they never stole anything. the only thing that pissed me off was twice when it happened they left the glove box open, which in that model car has a light inside, so it ran down the battery and made the car kinda hard to start in the morning afterward :/
that car was a total POS, but damn did i love it

Just a few weeks ago, near the last day of school, a kid stole PowerBands from me (I sell them). He tried to reason with me and said he will give me one back. I followed him to his locker. He opened it, I slapped him, took back all the PowerBands, and ran away. He needs faster reflexes. Never let bullies push you around. Unless that bully is a mugger holding a knife

i cant recall anything recent cept ten or so years ago or maybe less my super mario world snes cart went missing one day along with that turtles in time snes cart too it was suspected who it might of been as this was in the apartment but its too late now lol hardly give a #@$@#$ got it on vc anyways super mario world that is

but its a scary thing not scary to me actually in this world, i got a lock for my bike for example even though im 20 my mom keeps telling me to buy a better one preferably a metal one

but i shouldnt have to buy a better lock and beside if it was going to get stolen they would of probably had something to cut a metal lock apart from the one i have now

Yeah. Once I was in the house by myself doing some schoolwork, and when my parents got home they went in the kitchen to find that someone had stolen our microwave (I was right down the hall, must have been ninja crackheads).

I had my GBA SP stolen out of my backpack on the last day before Christmas holiday break in the 4th grade. I was really upset about it at the time, but now I realize that the way I had it in my backpack was practically begging for someone to steal it. That and I got a new one 5 days later for my birthday.

Exactly.
